you could check to see if it's overheating. Run a hardware monitor like hwinfo64 or hwmonitor and then load up beamng and spawn a few cars. See what your temps rise to, and if your cpu ever throttles its speed.

otherwise i don't know what would cause it

my cpu stayed around 50C - 55C and my cores were jumping around from 2712mhz each to 3214 each. not sure what the prob is

It says 3315 MHz because that's my base clock, but it's actually at 3815 MHz.
Also I have no idea why it says I have 3.98 GB RAM, I have 8 GB...

Well it looks like CPU-Z tells me I'm turbo boosting to 3.9GHZ during this bench and frequently during BeamNG gameplay. Overclocking beyond that will probably be a risky proposition. Seeing what bananabench would produce at 4-5 GHZ

would be thrilling if it didn't blow up my new laptop.

Wondering if you know specifically what CPU it is, and if its hyperthreaded? Then again, looking at the score i doubt it ;)

My 2500K also says i have 4GB instead of 8GB, although in my case i think it has something to do with the fact 2 of the DIMM slots on my motherboard dont seem to work, so my 2 sticks of RAM are in single channel mode instead of Dual Channel.

    Right now (idling so)

    (imported from here)
Gets near 85-90C° when on full load. Using something a big bigger than the stock cooler (Which I replaced about 3 weeks ago), but still..

    (imported from here)
    Hyper TX3 Evo.

I need to get a Water Cooling system asap..
Ambient temperature is around 30-35C° with 64% Humidity. Just summer.

I'm pretty sure it isn't installed properly, the crappy cooler that comes with the cpu can do a lot better than that.

Yep. Even when using the cooler that comes with the boxed package you should not exceed 75°C without overclocking. Even with 30°C-ish ambient temps.

Nah, It was doing much worse with the stock one.
I said 85-90%, but that's after several minutes under full load. When I play Beam it says around 70C°.
With the Stock cooler it was going right into 85C°.
Maybe I should try moving the PC somewhere else, it's basically under the desk, but there a good amount of space that should let air flow.

the reason it's saying you have 4gb of ram is because you're using the x86 (32 bit) benchmark. Click the other one.

    - - - Updated - - -

according to the intel website its model is SL5N9 (but nobody will know what that is), and it isn't hyperthreaded.

x86 benchmark says I have 3.98gb, the other one says I have 4gb. Both are wrong.

ah, guess i was wrong then. I assumed that was the issue because i saw the people saying it showed 4gb using the 32 bit bench

I have the same cooler and an i5-2400, forced up a few bins so its likely very similar to your CPU. I get about 35C idle and 60-70 under load. :\ Then again, I am in "sunny" england, with a bit lower ambient temps.

Yeah i think thats just the Stepping, check CPU-z for the CPU name.
