rules are simple, name a year, car then the feature of it like speed records, safety advancements, and more! I'll start: 1933- first car with FWD: Citroen Traction Avant 1997- first car with a backup camera: Isuzu VeHicross
1931 - DKW F1 is the first FWD car (take note @TheMultiTuber™ ) 1950 - Lancia Aurelia is the first V6-powered car 1991 - Toyota Soarer is the first car with backup camera (take note @TheMultiTuber™ ) 1995 - Mitsubishi Diamante is the first level 1 autonomous car 2001 - Renault Laguna ll is the first car to get a 5-star EuroNCAP rating
1960-first "kei" car: Mazda R360 1899-first electric car: baker electric 1997-first mass produced hybrid vehicle: Toyota Prius 1936-first diesel powered car: Mercedes-Benz 260 D
Wikipedia tells me 588K of 99s were manufactured, I seriously doubt Turbos make up that much. And what's the point? Mass production is always mass production, no matter the exact number.
1971 Zastava 101 - first modern compact hatchback 1977 Lada Niva - first unibody offroader 1981 Mercedes-Benz S-Class W126 - first car with airbags 1984 Jeep Cherokee XJ - first modern SUV
It never sold well in the first place, but all Corvair sales fucking tanked after the Mustang came out and Nader's book came out a year later. Also the F-85 Olds engine was mass production, but again, not many were sold. And the turbos blew up if you didn't replace the "Turbo-Rocket" fluid.
I thought the engine would knock itself to death if you didn’t.... It was methanol if I’m remembering correctly.
