Yes, GM is a massive multinational corporation that creates vehicles worldwide under many different names.
Ok, think of it this way, is FarCry4(Holden) and The Crew(Chevrolet) made by the same people. No? Exactly, they just have the same publisher (gm), it would be like taking all the models from the crew and chucking them into fc4, without the devs of fc4 lifting a finger. (not at all hating devs of either fc4 or the crew, just an example)
Not really the same thing at all, those companies Holden, Vauxhall, Chevrolet etc. They are all business divisions of GM meaning that GM has legal responsibility and obligations for them and what they do is up to GM. The different brands do to an extent operate as different companies and the cars may be designed and sold in another county by that company however the direction of the company and so on is all up to GM. With your example a publisher may be able to change how a game is in small ways but the development is separate this is not the same as GM. A better example would be how YouTube is owned by Google. There have been hardly any Holden vehicles sold in the USA rebadged as Chevrolet. Anyway Chevrolet has been an american company for ages now, Holden became part of GM in the 1930s by which point Chevrolet had been sold in the USA for decades. There would be no need for a company like GM to suddenly start selling vehicles it designed for the Australian market in the USA and even if they did the same issue would have arose, even back then.
Thought about what you have been saying and yes, You are correct. I guess us Australians are butthurt because we have no automotive industry...:/. Kenworth is all we have left here...
I wouldn't say you have none, after all Holden are definitely proper aussie cars, they're designed and built there. Its just some people seem to like to deny the fact that they're still owned by GM at the same time and its really GM's cll on what they do.
I don't know why but I'm going trough a valiant charger phase they are some pretty epic pieces of Australian engineering I wouldn't mind owning one myself but I don't like modern Australian cars.
You can't have a thread about Aussie cars without mentioning the magnificent 70 Series LandCruiser! #themostreliablecarofalltime The one here is a 1993 HZJ75 with the 4.2l 1HZ Diesel engine. Truly an Australian icon. A friend of mine had theirs get to 830,000kms before doing an engine rebuild. For those living in Australia, and more specifically Queensland, here's the link to where I got the picture from: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Toyota-Landcruiser-1993/SSE-AD-3547771/?Cr=27
I love the Land Cruiser Pickup myself! Here in the UAE (or Al Ain, at least) they are really common, I see one at least one a day.
What about The Ford Falcons?, Produced in the 70s. there are ironic cars mainly because of Mad Max as the MFP vehicles It's strange that it was not added in Beamng despite the huge cult following.
It was a mistake to bump this. This is THE ideal thread to make a complete nuisance of myself. the re badged Pontiac thread.
