Ah your probably right i didn't think about the possibility of the lpud exhaust covering up the tire noise.
Any idea what car they got the odd sounding V6 from? The one in the legran? It sounds like it has a dry throat and is trying to squeal.
I will still have a look - we could boost the volume a little based on tread amount. At the moment we only use tread amount for modulating rolls, be we can do that for skids as well. The whole rolls/skids system needs a bit of adjusting, but right now priorities are to increase the number of improved combustion engine sounds.
That scream just doesn't sound right. It sounds raspy and almost "mechanically organic" scream or roar if that helps (I made that term up just now). I wouldn't be surprised if it was in someone's nightmares. Ok maybe that's overkill but it's still not great.
The new 1600 and 2000 sounds are a game changer i now wish we can replace the v6 and v8 and then eventually v10, v12 and w16 with sounds in the same quality it will be killer. Ah yes and the Flat 6 from a Porsche would be epic. I know it takes time its alot of work.
The plan is for everything - and yes, you're right there's a lot of work involved in sourcing, processing and implementing
Is it just me or there is no tire skid sounds when drifting while not on the throttle? Edit: It is only in certain cases not always.
Cool! You did audio for other games? What games? I have Dirt 2, but probably not that Dirt 2. I have this one for the Wii: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_McRae:_Dirt_2 Ok, the Wii version is crappier buts still a bunch of fun.
You did do the audio for the ColinMcrae Dirt 2! Those sounds are directly from my childhood!!! The Wii version didn't have the Quattro though You've been doing this since 1992? Wow. I wasn't even born yet! (sorry for the possible "I'm old" feeling)
I was the lead audio designer, but we had a team of 4 (I think) sound designers. Maybe the Quattro was in DiRT 3 then, I can't remember... yep... old(er) age
It's pretty cool that you also upload all of your music to Spotify and Apple Music. In fact, you even have your own Wikipedia page!
