Hey guys. Is it possible to edit the cable beams to make it more rigid? Because for me, whem I'm towing, the towed car hits the truck when I brake. So I believe that if the cable acted like a rigid object, I would not have this kind of problems

i think maybe if there was some lua trickery when it connects to the hook, when you brake the car you are towing should also brake. Seems like a more realistic way of doing it

    1. This mod is outdated
    2. This is not the same Tow Truck mod as the one that just got released.

I know that. But a Fix was released, so the mod works fine. I just woud like some tips about Jbeaming to improve the mod for me.

    This is the Fix:

There's a better place to ask for that. It's a section called Mod Support where you can ask those kinds of questions. A lot of people will see the Outdated Tag on this thread and just skip over the thread. It's better to ask those sort of things in more relevant place where someone will be more willing to assist in that sort of thing.

Making another thread for a mod that already has a thread seems kinda the same to me; it hurts the forum's clarity probably harder than simply replying to a thread with an "Outdated" tag.

Well, I got it. But anyway, I found a way to do what I wanted. Sorry for the inconvenience. But just to remember, this mod still works beautifully.

What I got was this. Maybe not quite realistic

    "beams": [
    ["id1:", "id2:"],
    {"beamPrecompression":1, "beamType":"|NORMAL", "beamLongBound":1, "beamShortBound":1},
    {"beamSpring":2300000,"beamDamp":200},
    {"beamDeform":55500,"beamStrength":"FLT_MAX"},
    ["tow2","tow7"],
    ["tow2","tow6"],
    ["tow2","tow5"],
    ["tow2","tow4"],
    ["tow2","tow3"],

    ["tow7","tow3"],
    ["tow7","tow4"],
    ["tow7","tow5"],
    ["tow7","tow6"],

    ["tow6","tow4"],
    ["tow6","tow3"],
    ["tow3","tow5"],
    ["tow4","tow5"],

    ["tow4","f17r"], //fix
    ["tow4","f17l"], //fix

    ["tow3","f17r"], //fix
    ["tow3","f17l"], //fix

    {"beamSpring":0,"beamDamp":95},
    {"beamDeform":"FLT_MAX","beamStrength":"FLT_MAX"},

    ["towrp","f17r"], //fix
    ["towrp","f17l"], //fix

    ],

I moved the red lines to the beam group above and it worked more realistically.

Also, I added the imput actions from the other tow truck mod (so you have a dedicated button tu raise the hook and another to lower.

I did the same thing, but I also removed the "triangles" from the hook and support.

I kept the triangles, so the towed car don't go forward when you brake

I removed the triangles from the hook so as not to break the bumper of the transported car.
