Yes. I updated the .sbeam sound file (a table that couples events to sound-clips) to match the powertrain. Without this fix, the truck sounded like a lawnmower + the bugs you mentioned. Issues such as the sound clips going mono are partially buggy BeamNG sound processing, partially clips sucking balls. Expect new sounds clips... sometimes in the near future.
The middle piece turned invisible after a crash, but the front one is still there. (just cant see it in the picture.) Also, is the truck sound changed?
Broke your rear driveshaft. Bug in 0.8.0 preventing some damage from showing up in damage app.(on all vehicles) Yes sounds changed, see posts above.
Same as above. Either the driveshaft vanishes on breakage via meshBreaking (official vehicles do that, too), or you accept it stretching around like a rubberband. Option A sounds like the better prospect to me. I'll group the support with the driveshaft arm, so that they both meshBreak at the same time.
Oops XD I didn't even read this page by accident. Just went and downloaded the new file. Kinda like the new sound thought. --- Post updated --- Horns aren't solid, is this a bug?
They have no triangles, just collision nodes. --- Post updated --- By the way, I'm working on a set of fixes/improvements for the issues you reported today.
So... How do you like this latest version? A public release is due soon, and I'd like to receive some feedback, not just bug reports.
Its a pretty good update, i mean, i think you should some some more beta testing, before we let the public use it
Sure, I have a bunch of fixes coming already. The "big" problems are currently the glitchy powertrain and custom sounds, although I believe part of the problems might be caused by bugs in the game code, not our implementation.
i did my bit of testing. yes there is fire. some results: the front clip seems to vary how much force it takes to knock it off; sometimes it takes a hard direct hit, sometimes it only takes a small bump on a wall. not sure why this is. the truck doesn't seem to know when it's supposed to catch fire. sometimes it will keep going after all driveshafts and tires are completely bent out of shape and still not flare up. but then the next second you hit your back tires against a wall in a weird way and you're caught in an inferno. whole suspension system in general seems to be weaker than before. --- Post updated --- possible big issue: sometimes the front clip will get caught on one of the front tires, and then it will spin and rip apart the front suspension like hot butter through a cold knife. --- Post updated --- also sometimes i get severe lag spikes when crashing head on into a wall. most noticeable with zombie with the arms and tie.
Clips are fully structured, so each of them reacts to impacts in a different way, depending on the shape and how well protected the supports are. Max-D's front clip is much easier to knock off bacause of it's peculiar shape, clamshell hoods are more robust. That's by design. Fuel tank is in the back. It's not supposed to rupture on front impacts... Likely your impression, strengthening is in place... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this though, since the game's collision mechanics have changed so dramatically with the latest update. Anyway, that's the easiest thing to adjust, if needed. Ok, the mod clearly isn't ready yet for a public release. So much stuff to fix...
*front clip absolutely destroying front suspension --- Post updated --- still, you would think that having this much damage to the rear would cause at least a small fire:
Driveshafts are currently not linked to the fire system. Will include them, so that they cause engine failure + fire on breakage.
Well I don't think a full out fire would happen, I've seen this happen a few times and not once there was a fire, (GD 1993, Max-D 2003, ETL 2001) Also loosing a rear driveshaft would not kill the engine, It would make it rev alot higher and make the front wheels spin faster, and that can lead to a torn up engine..... my 0.02
Well that's the reason why it's currently not happening. I don't think the engine should catch fire for a broken driveshaft.
all i was wondering was if you could make it more consistent? because right now it seems a bit random.
It's not random. The fuel tank is beamed. Break any of the beams in its structure and watch the fireworks. The fuel tank is well protected by the spaceframe, it should be very hard to rupture it.
Please don't make driveshafts cause fire... Some fire mechanics - If the rear axle or a hub gets smashed(hard) into the fuel tank, it goes boom(usually requires a shock or two broken). If enough force to the fuel tank is exhibited from an impact to the fueltank area of the truck... it goes boom. Simple, and consistent.. Eventually when engine thermals are added, it may be possible to run the engine so hard, it goes boom too. Now if only we could smell that sweet smell of the methyl alcohol burning....
