Omg! Where the hell can I download it??????? This looks AMAZING! Please tell me how to download, can't find link in first post. Have purchased the game and added it to steam a long time ago.
Hi, welcome to the forum, this map is not released yet, this can be seen by the WIP tag up the top, you will see this tag on most maps (WIP, WIP - Beta released, Released, Cancelled, ETC), this author *should* soon release this, but until then, there are many other maps available for you to download. Most people don't like when people ask for maps that haven't been released, but because you are new, it is ok for this time, just check the tag next time to se if you can download it. Hope you enjoy the BeamNG forum and community!
Hello all, I put this map on hold because I can't manage the draw of the track, I try ,I try but it is difficult to do an interresting track with this landscape... Some time it work and some time not...
I hope you decide to keep working on this! Maybe take a break and refresh the mind. Trying to be creative on this level can be a serious work out. You have a great eye for detail and figuring things out Doullpepper!
This looks sick! So excited! Someone should make rally scenarios out of your maps; I would, but I really don't know how.
I'm currently writing up a tutorial on how to use blender bezier curves to carve out the roads for maps. I'm using the technique for the upcoming official map and it's a lot faster and easier, I hope it helps you out; your work on this so far looks really cool
Thanks for your interest! I use for the moment spline of world machine because there are a lot of settings and you can do really what you want. But it is very fastidious because you must do the render too often for seeing what you do, it is long! I have tryed the sims 3 tools lol, fast work on simple terrain but very limited for a complex mountain road, and very limited in setting... I am curious to see this new technique !
I can understand how the WM method would be a pain for a map like this. Rendering in anything less than 2048 would not be enough detail to see what your road is doing.
What I do is render in 1024 to start with and then move to 2048 as the road gets closer to the final position. That's part of the problem with the roads in Baja Hills, I gave up trying to render every tweak at 4096 and the resulting inconsistencies are apparent. No doubt the WM way of doing it is terribly inefficient and grinding but the effect is worth it in the end...for now.
I also tried World Machine, it's not very good for roads. With blender you can do camber and give the road a specific cross section on top of it being faster.
I created the tutorial here, I hope it helps http://www.beamng.com/threads/16356-Tutorial-Adding-heightmap-roads-using-blender
All right! After studying the LFJHutch's tutorial and few things of blender , I can continue this map in a very good way!
