The map loads, but gets frozen at the loading screen and all I hear is the atmospheric wind sound clip. Yes, I've deleted the cache. Any ideas?
Completely remove all mods out of BeamNG and delete all level related caches. This map takes a really long time to load even then. If needed delete the zip.download altogether and re-download. This is a large download for a map and could be getting corrupted in transit.
Are you sure it's frozen? As it says in the mod description the map has long loading times. And i really mean long loading times. The atmospheric sounds will sound the whole time while the map is loading because the sounds are one of the first thing that gets loaded first.
I've left it loading for at least 5 minutes, and on the bottom left said "100% loaded". That's what I'm going by.
The cache created by the old version of Altitude is what creates these squares. You need to clean your cache ( or delete BeamNG.drive\cache.0.7.0.2\levels\Altitude ) and it should fix your problem
When you say level related, you mean clear out the entire contents of the level cache folder? I've deleted and re-downloaded too. Last is to remove all mods which sucks because trying over a hundred mods one at at time is fun. Hah, oh well, 'tis programming.. csnt wait to play this beast of a level!
Yes, all map/level related caches and as Ryvylo points out any older Altitude caches especially. As for your mod collection simply copy all of them to a new folder on your desktop where they can be easily accessed and then clear them out of the BeamNG location. Firstly, get rid of any old Altitude caches and go from there. Once you have gotten Altitude working correctly simply add back one by one the mods you moved to the desktop. The point here is to start fresh and eliminate any causes for Altitude to get hung up on. It's super easy once you train yourself to do it.
Be sure you have not an other Altitude version anywhere and I think you only need to remove the folder "Altitude" in documents/beamng.drive/cache0.7.1/levels.
Well you said no fps impact but i cant even run the no forrest version now I know my laptop is a potato but i was able to run the older version with low graphics
Hoooo sorry but I have a quite good config, and for me I have no visible changes than before, but on bad config I can't know if it work or not. If you know a little the terrain editor, you could desable the groundcover. Do you want an explaination to do that?
set from 0 to 1, you should gain 10 to 20 fps, depending on system configuration. meshCulling = "0"; originSort = "0"; meshCulling = "1"; originSort = "1";
Okay so I really like this map, in my option its the best map on BeamNG. I had the map and it worked perfectly but after the new update it says files are missing. "levels/altitude/altitude2.forest" and "levels/altitude/altitude.mis.decals" once I click OK the game crashes. I tried re-downloading the map but there was no result. Do you need the new update for BeamNG Drive for this map to work if not is there a way to fix this?
Have you deleted all files of the previous version ( "Altitude.zip" in documents/beamng.drive/mods/ and the folder "Altitude" in documents/beamng.drive/cache/) ?
It's red written in the description of the update, you must delete the previous files! If not , it don't work correctly.
