Haha, talk about having to totally change my driving style! They might be nice if they had an on/off setting and it would probably be really hard to make, although I have no sense of a clue on making things like that.
Uh...ok then. I think they would be pretty cool. It would make the crashes way more realistic. If airbags are included in the game, I bet that would mean a realistic ragdoll driver would be too. I think it's a good idea. Not sure why people disagree
Oh that's true. I forgot that after airbags deploy they don't retract. It would look really weird driving around with 2 marshmallows filling the interior...
That's true. Another reason to add the selectional repair thing. Still, I don't know if I would want airbags. If I were playing in 1st person mode, I would rather just see the crash out of the driver's perspective rather than a giant white bag blocking the view.
As for the airbags deploying and having marshmallows floating around, I suppose you could always add some insane animation where your avatar rips out the deployed airbag and throws it out the window. I think it would be a nice touch myself. Especially if it were optional.
I'm not even sure the game will have an "avatar" (by this I'm guessing you're talking about a driver or main character). It seems too early to tell. I personally think it will be like RoR: you don't have a driver, but you have a person that can walk around and stuff. They just disappear when you enter a vehicle.
But if they add human damage models the BotNG (or whatever) will need to show up. I like having a person that doesn't disappear. EDIT: 100[SUP]th[/SUP] post! Now new and improved, Senior Member!
Same here. I'd love to actually have a character, especially if that made the game more like a sandbox title. Also, welcome to Senior Membership, where nothing changes aside from your title and number of posts.
The creators somewhere said that they'll be making a game out of this, where you own a car and perform tasks with it to make money to upgrade your car or buy a new one, while also trying to keep your car in working order. I could see airbags being added for that portion to make players more cautious with their vehicles.
There's no way they would do that. Part (most) of the fun of the game is crashing cars. It would suck if we had to earn money to repair our cars. What happens if you crash all of your cars and have no money? That would make the game so much worse. If you can show me where they said that, I will believe you. Otherwise, I'm remaining in disbelief. Also, if the game really worked like that, why not do it in real life? Why would you perform fake tasks to make fake money to buy fake cars when you can do that in real life (and actually make money and buy cars)? That's like buying a video game where you mow the lawn; why wouldn't you do it in real life? It's just as boring and you actually make money. The point of almost every game (with the exception of very few) is to allow a person to do something they normally couldn't. Instead of playing the version of BeamNG you're talking about, I think we're all capable of delivering pizzas in our Honda Civic to make money for a hood scoop and spoiler .
I think they commented it on one of their videos, but I'm still looking. Anyway, the fact that they said that the Pigeon will be "the free vehicle the player can always get if they're broke and need wheels." means that there will be some money component in the game itself. Also, don't worry, they also said somewhere that there will be a sandbox mode .
They HAVE said they are planning on it being that way. And i think its genius. If you actually think people can just go do this in real life then im afraid you might be a bit deluded... I dont think i need to elaborate on the matter.
