Anyone got any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.

    EDIT: Nevermind. Fixed it.

Golf is brilliant, a great addition to the garage. Only thing is the curious black bits through the roof when you squash the roof, which spoils the visuals a touch, but that's just me being petty. Thanks for all your hard work on this car!

I've just thrown this around the 2 island maps from the base game. Do not see your point even remotely. I can only conclude that you have never handled a real car.

Also worth remembering that front wheel drive cars do tend to understeer, also the fact that you're often going far faster in the game than it feels like you are which might give you an incorrect perception on the level of understeer, especially when using the external camera view. Without a speedo it can be hard to perceive (although I know there is a mod for a speedo somewhere)

Yes. The handling is the best part of the car right now. My only beefs are with the gauges and the roof. When this is done, I'll probably like it more than the covet.

Really nice car. I love the design and especially the handling of it.

But why does is have only one rear view mirror? Every Golf MK2 I know in real life, has two exterior rear view mirrors.

A quick search with google confirmed my knowledge. Only a few golfs have only one, and then they are mostly MK1 and not MK2.

    Please answer :)

That's because it is based on the Covets jbeam and the Covet only has one mirror. But it will be added in the future.

Thats because its based on the covet´s J-Beam. And it has only one.
I´m not shure but 0-60 is going to make it possible to have a 2nd mirror.

Re: (RELEASE 1/25) '87 Volkswagen Golf Mk2 GTI

The second version of the beta is now available! I added in hubcaps, improved the roof Jbeam, added in headlights (no glowmaps yet), and fixed a few of the names and textures. I tried working on the gauges and glowmaps, but haven't made any progress yet. They still aren't working properly. I'll keep working on them. Hopefully, they will be complete in the next update.

The new Jbeam structure of the roof will help prevent the inside of the interior mesh from poking through the roof.

Hubcaps are now available for the default (stock) configuration of the Golf, and can be added or removed in the parts menu.

Just like the original Covet, the hubcaps can fly off.

Is the Covet symmetrical regarding the general body ? Are the doors at the same mirrored positions ? I never checked myself but if it's the case he can easily duplicate the first mirror and invert the X values of the nodes.

This is absolutely brilliant! I have a few suggestions, though:

Could you make a set of Pirelli P wheels for this? (Reference photos below) I think it'd look awesome with them.

Also, the Rally bumper seems a bit out-of-place (it seems to flop around a lot). Would you be able to do a rally kit more like this (the wheels shown in the pic below would also be cool to see):

Other than that, this is awesome. Love driving it, probably one of my favourite community-created cars :D

EDIT: Also, the rally bumper has lighting issues
