Buckle up kids, we're entering the BBRRRROOOOOOWWWWNN era. I drive an automatic Dodge Charger and it's SEEEEWWW FAUUUUNNNSEEEHHH. Why would I bother changing my own gears? I'm not some inner-city hoodrat in a Satsuma 120 GT! but seriously one of those guys actually just beat me off the line don't look under the hood I had to get the slant-six to afford the automatic and interior package
the "Satsuma" or the Datsun 100a only made 45HP-61ft/lbs. of torque to the wheels, the slant 6 in... lets say 1971 (So its measured with accessories just like the Datsun) made 145HP-215ft/lbs. of Torque.. if a satsuma beat the charger off the line then that is a skill issue with the driver lol even with the power to weight ratio.
I'm talking about the GT, not the base model, which in the BeamNG mod has 68 horsepower plus the advantages of radial sport tyres, a sport manual gearbox and a far lighter curb weight. Automobile-Catalog lists a top speed of under 100mph and 0-60 of over 14 seconds for the base slant-six '74 Charger with an autobox. Once the mod is released to the public, I guess I will have to drag-race the two in game and post the results here. Edit: I tried this right now with the base-model automatic Gavril Bandit, which has a similar weight, identical net power output, and better performance if anything compared to the slant-six Charger, and was handily beaten by the Satsuma GT. On an unrelated note, the Bruckell Nine now accurately simulates partially synchronised transmissions; shifting from second down to first without double-clutching, no matter how carefully, always damages the gearbox unless you do so at a complete stop. Will the Charger do the same, or were all of the three-speed transmissions available for it fully synchronised in real life?
In reality Outside of Beam Ng which, The Real Life Datsun 100a barely gets out of its own way, and tops out a 6000RPM which is where the power is made, if only Beam NG would Realistically implement the idea of Power to weight instead of Direct Drive, IE That 68 Horsepower is hitting the wheels unlike IRL which would be a net loss of around 17% atleast through the Datsun 100A''s trans and Diff, The "Satsuma" Would maybe make eye to eye contact with Fords Flat head 4 cylinder of the 20s. I'm an Automotive Machinist, Engine Builder, and such, played with 'em pretty much all my life, dyno'd some oddball engines, Along with knowing that the Datsun's Horsepower to weight ratio is Worse than the chargers by about 10LBs wet is funny. (32lbs per 1 horse power on the Datsun and 23lbs per Horsepower on the Charger) --- Post updated --- as for the 0-60 times that depends readily on your gear ratio, a 1971-1974 dodge charger with the True trac 3.55 WITH A833 Transmission, would soundly demolish a "Satsuma" Datsun 100A, as for the top speed, My Book, atleast from Tony Defeo, IE Uncle Tony lists, a 1971 Dodge Charger Equipped with the Base engine (A 225 CUI slant six) With the Optioned A833 Transmission, and 3.55 "True Trac" Rear Differential was able to do the quarter mile in 14.6 seconds, at 118MPH with a 26" tall tire at 4500rpm
Watching Satsuma fans get absolutely shut down is never gonna stop being entertaining. No, the subcompact 1L will not outperform the muscle car from the same era unless the driver of the muscle car is drunk, has no legs and is blind.
Will there be a 426 Hemi? and a stage 3/4 super charger if you added that, will it be the beehive style or a bonnet blower?
I am not sure about the big supercharger intake but it's highly likely as a cut hood is planned. The Hemi engine is definitely planned.
Slenson, i literally have those same cars and i made a custom super bee config for the coronet. it goes 163 Mph
It's such a strange feeling seeing old mods I made get completly outclassed a decade later. Looks great keep it up
