1. Most likely not (please get used to reading through threads before posting so it contributes something, as I did talk about this earlier on when Lucas’ Picnic was released) 2. Most likely yes. (btw, I don’t have a preference as to whether or not a mod is paid, as modders deserve some form of reward, whatever it is, for their work. I just don’t think it’s right to make my first ever standalone mod something you have to pay for.)
one recommendation, could you maybe use updated shiftlogic transmission tuning for the 10 speed? https://www.beamng.com/resources/updated-shiftlogic-automatic-transmissions.16947/ a few other mods have incorporated this mod, and its amazing. the stock transmissions are pretty bad, and in my opinion it can make or break a car
Howdy, Finn. Just wanting to check in and see how you are doing personally - I know life is very busy and keeps us from getting things done as quick as we'd like at times. Aside from personally, anything new going on with the mod?
I know I hit the back arrow too many times, so I changed it to reply, that was a beginners mistake my bad.
I feel really bad for making you guys have to wait so long, but here’s part two going off where we left off. So, first off, the lights. They were starting to clash with the textured body, and I was getting sick of how the front DRL looked as a solid mass of glowing white when the car was on, so straight after I’d textured the body, I got on with their textures. Starting with the unwrap…. …then packing the islands… …then the substance stuff which I won’t get into much as I’ve been over this a few times before. (though I feel you guys deserve a look at just about the most satisfying AO bake of all time) So I got them mapped, …then textured them which is oversimplified here as they took me days… …with some nice details (Sirius projection referencing the brightest star in the night sky). Next, the wheels needed some love. Starting with the alphas, onward with my texturing spree! …then the betas… …and to break a 4-way texturing spree, a new model. Still related to wheels though. The sport Centauri never quite looked right with the tiny, silver Alphas, especially next to the Luxury with it’s 22 inch diamond cut betas. So I felt it was time to give that some love with some wheels that were very creatively named Gamma. …and on that bombshell… …time for something else. That other thing being an offroad rear bumper, starting with the design and turning 3D as always. (This time with a custom, downturned exhaust) …which I promptly textured but didn’t take any development screens of for some reason. Back to this; Model done! …now for textures… …wait no I need lugnuts… …now for textures, starting with the unwrap. …then a massive jump to done and in-game. gunmetal …and silver as suggested by @Shadows. …and an intermittent picture of the gang; Next, some raised sideskirts for the offroad… …and raised coilovers. …so that’s pretty much today if today means nearly two months ago. There’s another thing I’ve been working on for the last two months + a secondary project that hasn’t been seen on the forums at all, the first of which I’ll be documenting when I’ve finished it. Thanks so much for reading this update and I’m sorry for making you guys wait so long for it. You guys’ engagement in the mod’s progress is one of the main things that keeps me going on it. See you guys next time I post! notes for myself; most recent part of this is on 04/04/22
I’ve also given the first post a bit of an update with more accurate figures and descriptions, if anyone wants to have a look.
