That does make a rather large difference! That will certainly help break up the empty space, and looks pretty dang cool to boot. And even if it didn't, the rest of the car looks downright gorgeous, and I trust that whatever you've got planned will be perfect! Any thoughts on the headlight discussion, by the way?
So, I decided to create a new YouTube channel for BeamNG stuff a bit ago, and here’s the first video. Hope it’s alright! It’s a bit short as there’s not much I could showcase about exhausts but it was something I couldn’t do without videos.
@Finn Wilkinson you said on the first page that you expect to have a manual transmission as well as an automatic. For manual options I would suggest two. A 6 speed and a 7 speed that has the same gear ratios but has an added crawler gear as first similar to the new Bronco. It doesn’t make much sense to have a 5 speed in something this modern.
Only the current one you always see, as I’ve not got to making them yet. This current one’s called ‘Testcar’.
How is the mod going? I saw this thread is not that much active lately. But take your time. I don't want to ask release date because I can understand from the images and updates that this is in "early stage development". Keep up the good work.
This thread’s been quite quiet recently, so here’s a few new things on the car. Spotlights! These things are a right pain to work with but I’ve added them to it for consistency’s sake. This includes: Brake lights… …rear indicators… …numberplate lights… …headlights (low beam)… …headlights (high beam)… …and mirror indicators. Along the same lines, now the mirror indicators and the CHMSL break. Now for something a little more fundamental to the car, the weight distribution. The Centauri, before now, has somewhere near a 60/40 split biased to the front, and it was noticeably affecting it’s driving quality as I hadn’t bothered to edit any weights since the start of the project. It was also unbalanced to the left side. So, to put an end to that, I decided to have a go at tweaking it. Here’s the new distribution. It isn’t perfect but it’s a huge SUV, not a CCF2, so it’s not gonna be perfectly balanced. To balance it I had to increase weights more than decrease them (I had much less wiggle room on the lower end of the scale), so it’s gained about 200 kilograms annoyingly. I’ve still got about 300kg until it hits the Land Cruiser anyway so it’s not too bad, but it still needs an interior, and that’ll add a ton (not literally) of weight anyway. I’m still trying to work out my new PC, so sorry it’s not a boatload, but I’m pretty happy with what I’ve got done. Hope to see you guys on the thread as always! Next update on post #299 --- Post updated --- I saw this in my notifications as I was typing up that post lmao
Great! Thanks! --- Post updated --- lol --- Post updated --- I follow this thread from a month. And now that you are starting a new interior, I have some suggestions for you. Don't expect too much btw lol My suggestion on the gauge cluster design are these. Maybe speed and RPM are not in scale, but I feel like they adapt to the car design. Also, in my opinion, the "DEC-V1" should be for the "base" version, but it being a luxury SUV, I don't know honestly. The unmarked "290 kmh" one may be for Hybrid I6 or V8s (digital) on higher trims. Lastly, interiors. I looked for BMW 2024 interior styling but I haven't found out that much. I'll try my best to describe them: Audi and BMW with a touch of Tesla style. Black leather and alcantara with wood trim. Range Rover interiors (top trim) or Ford Bronco interiors also are great. Note: I saw that speakers for stereos in BeamNG are 4 in almost all modern cars. SO making speakers more visible by adding some in headrests (BOSE concept) would be good. 2nd Note: these are suggestions. Feel free to do what you want. Thx for reading. I did this from my smartphone so it's not the best thing
Right then, I thought it was time to create a thread for my first full, brand new car for BeamNG, the Procyon Centauri! name is final now after a while of thinking nice
It's looking great! Have you already modeled the interior and are waiting to put it into Beamng, or do you still have to model the interior?
I’ve not got an interior model quite yet but it’s coming soon. If you didn’t see in the progress shots, I pretty much always model stuff straight before getting it in-game, unless it’s the car itself!
How have you still got so many people after what youve done to me? On topic: The rear indicators give me muscle car vibes
