Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely do interior changes, right now I haven't looked into it too deeply but gauges seem like an easy way to customize it. Thanks, I'll give the logo a go myself at some point, for now I'm focusing on the big details. Lighter will be on top trim levels. Carbon and aluminium parts for hood, roof, door, trunk but the main structure will stay cost-driven. More aerodynamic it most definitely would be since the front end, sides and rear are more steamlined. For the setup, I think it will be a separate car since I'll change the main body as well. The Bastion's engines are in the common folder so one cold reuse them for custom configs. On the flip side I'll make the Baionetta's 4 cylinder and V10 engines in the common folder so the standard Bastion can access them as well. I'm not sure about it either. I might consider reworking it a bit when I do the different trim levels specific bumpers.
could it be possible that autobello civetta and bruckell by this point are all owned by the same conglomerate?
I’d argue it is. People won’t want to download a mod if they think it’s just a rebadge of another car.
but they will see its a rebadge when they look at the images and it might prevent people that are here just to hate on it from even visiting the post
The tagline is there to give an idea of what the car is objectively. The fact that it's based on the Bastion is a "selling" point as it it has parts that work on the Bastion and vice versa. The rest is in the eye of the beholder I guess. And since I'm just making a car that I like, I'm not too worried about optics at this point. On a similar note, I'm trying to stay open to suggestions but ultimately this is my creation and the final result will not please everyone or incorporate everyone's suggestions. I'm ok with that and hope everyone else is as well. That's my headcanon too!
Nice to see a lore-friendly Alfa Romeo Giulia! Yeah. Think of it as a lore-friendly equivalent of Stellantis.
Didn't hurt the Cherrier Rayonner, which has over 240k downloads and has more visually in common with the Bastion than this one does.
Wooow!! finally my car is on here. I've loved to see a lore friendly alfa romeo mod for ages!! --- Post updated --- Logo for GTX version (i'm not the best graphic designer, but I tried my best)
Last updates for this week, I'm taking a few days off for Easter. First off, the first pass at the inline 4 engine. I used the Vivace one, scaled it up by 1.2 and rerouted the intake and exhaust. Still to do are engine mounts and adjustments to the bottom end to fit the front part of the 4wd drivetrain from the Bastion. The strut-bar is just a placeholder, I'll model a nicer one once I get all the engines fitted. Next up is another take on the front bumper. I've cleaned up the shape and ditched that bottom center section that I reused from the Bastion Sport bumper. The bottom intake is modular with pieces that redirect air to the intake(s) and intercooler(s) for each engine configuration. Pictured here is the V10 twin turbo one. Lastly a new take on the N/A V10 intake:
Very cool idea, looking forward to further progress of this project Are you going for 50:50 weight distribution by any chance? I think the Civetta V10 is surprisingly light given its displacement, so I guesstimate it might be achievable.
Haven't looked into the weight distribution yet, I'll look into it when I do the jbeam setup. Ideally the car should be as close to 50-50 as possible but I do want to keep edits to a realistic level so I'll try to get there with edits that make sense IRL as well, things like lightweight hood, doors and not just editing the node weights of the main body to get perfect weight distribution. The car might end up heavier than the real world Giulia tbh, I think the Bastion is larger to start with, one class above the Giulia/ 3 series / C class.
