Pretty much, you're just unwrapping the untextured version and exporting that unwrap to make a template, yes.
What JsZ was saying was that JsZ put in a lot of time for the airbags, and didn't want to just give the system out as he feels it's unfair to him and the time he's spent. While I personally think it's a bit greedy, I can completely understand. The amount of time and research he's likely done to get it to work is probably in the dozens of hours, possibly even up to the hundreds.
True. I’d actually think it would be cooler if you need to pay to use it, like 30-50 dollars you can use it in your mod
That would be fair. You're paying JsZ for the time and research he put into the mod, while being able to implement it in your own mod. (while obviously giving credit where it's due) Maybe bring that up to him. He might go for it. If not, then I guess just stop asking. We don't want to spam questions about it if he's already said no.

Unless the person making the mod straight-up ripped his progress and ported it to their mod, he wouldn't have any leverage. You don't see minute maid suing other companies for making their own lemonade. Only if the company were to straight up take the lemonade, re-package it, and sell it as their own would Minute maid have leverage.
im pretty sure he stated in discord that it was a fairly low effort and time mod that he made while experimenting im 100% sure he would not do that, it just sounds kinda stupid tbh he has already stated a handful of times that he has little time for beamng due to school and other stuff also he has said it is still a heavy wip and may never even be perfected even if that were true, would it be ethical? now, if he lets you use it/retool it then you would have an argument. but just straight up putting it in your own mod without asking or crediting wouldn't be acceptable imo
What I mean, is that if P_enta (which is unlikely) were to develop his own version of the airbags, and use that in this, and other mods he makes, then JsZ couldn't say anything about it since P_enta would have done all of the work, and research by himself. If P_enta were to copy any of JsZ's systems, models, etc. without his permission, then JsZ could claim copyright as P_enta did not receive permission to copy or duplicate the mod.
