Eh, the interior looks okay for me. I actually like the color, it would look way better in purple, dark blue, or red though. I love the infotainment system though!

Looks pretty good, I'm very happy to see Mercedes returning to a simple design language instead of the overdone pointless ultra-creasy designs that have plagued german cars for the last decade or so. The interior looks just fine aswell, with a simple and ergonomic design, although the blue line running through the dash is a bit too tacky IMO. Another thing to note is that the dashboard is relatively small, and slants forward which increases interior space and comfort and makes the whole cockpit look better all around :)

Looks like a good quality car all around. If it's anywhere near as reliable and well made as the products mercedes were making in the 80s and 90s, it's going to be an amazing car.

Sorry but I just don't see how the design is overdone. It looks simple, clean, and very far from things like this:

What exactly looks overdone with the CLS? The X3 and X6 have all those unnecessary body lines and creases that go nowhwere, loads of fake vents, and awful proportions, the A-class has more unnecessary vents and a huge grille that throws off the entire car's appearance; the worst thing I can say about the CLS is that one specific line in the body was unnecessary (the little crease that runs along the bottom of the doors and goes up).

And the wheels/tires look really small in the back. They need to make the tires larger so it dosent look like its on home depot cabinet casters haha

Oh so you forgot that mercedes slaps fake exhausts on almost every car?

I believe on the C250 there are plastic exhausts that literally are blocked off and it angers me so much every time I see one.

Yeah the fake exhausts are tacky as hell, I'll agree with you, but it doesn't impact the car's aesthetic all that much, and both of the exhaust "holes" are used in the higher-spec models, so they have a purpose. It's hardly the same as putting 10 grilles on the front and the sides that do absolutely nothing other than add unnecessary cost and complexity.

Speaking of fake vents, I will admit that these two ungodly things need to go away:

They do absolutely nothing as far as I can tell. You can even see the plastic behind them

Surficial treatment is somewhat better, but proportions are awful...

Sadly both car designers and consumers have apparently stopped giving a shit about visibility, so we end up with ridiculous banana windows in most modern cars. While I like the smooth design, it would look a million times better if they lowered the belt line and the hood a little bit.

Sadly though, modern safety regs have led to cars with gigantic front ends, ultra-high hoods and beltlines, small wheel arches and obstructive interiors. Few car companies are able to engineer a solution to these restrictions, a good example being Porsche. Only a minor difference in design with about 50 years' worth of idiot-proofing :)

    Sounds like you're in denial....

AMG models. And how much do they cost? Yeah, exactly....

Actually, I looked it up. The current doesn't have visible exhausts till the CLS 500 which is 82K.....

Huh... I'm a German and even I see a lot of differences.....

The AMG models are ludicrously expensive. That doesn't disprove my point that the exhaust holes are indeed functional :) And yes, they do have a small impact on the design. I'm not in denial, at the worst i'm making a small concession for a minor design flaw, since I like the general idea of a smooth, uncomplicated, if not somewhat melted design (which was my original point by the way)

The porsche has managed to maintain the original iconic shape, and even preserved the generous window/door ratio, unlike many modern cars that seemingly have mail slots for windows (The new Camaro is a great example).

Of course it's different from the original 911, but the actual design language has not changed, the only differences from the original to the modern one have resulted from mandatory safety standards (such as thicker pillars, bulkier engine bay, etc.)
This picture illustrates what I mean quite well:

The CLS doesn't look that bad. IMO the 6 GC is more worse in looks.

Have to agree with you espacially on that the new cls hasnt got as much bling on it like a cla. Espacially the taillights of the cla look a bit like tinkerbell or something like that and the c class looks like it has a disco in its frontlights

The first one is the Mercedes-Benz R-Class. I think it is an R63 AMG.

The interior is nice, could use some contrasting colors, but still not interested with the whole digital speedometer screen...
The horrible exterior basically the mix of these....

Just when you thought that using the same exterior design for the S, C, and E class wasn't stupid enough...
