Sure, I guess. It does haul the thing. And if you want to, go find videos of the Town and Country's with the newer 3.6L Pentastar, 283 hp!!!
For what it's worth IIRC the 3.4 liter 3400 series pushrod v6 engine was in the late 90s Pontiac Trans-sport / Montana minivan (same as Chevrolet Uplander/Venture, Olds Silhouette, and the Buick whatever-it-was where applicable, Buick had one taken from the Uplander van, IIRC, I could be wrong though about Buick having a van). The Pontiac I owned years back definitely would chirp up the front tires pretty well and got out of it's own way, but it wasn't quite a power house. Always seemed to me that the overdrive gearing could engage in 3rd or 4th gear in the manner the RPM's could drop a fraction, but I'm no transaxle specialist by a longshot. Was a good vehicle though! If I also remember correctly, the Uplander got a 3.5 liter engine in 2004 for the re-do. The 3400 in the 97~2003 model years got 185HP, not sure about the 3.5 liter. I drove my 98 Trans Sport model minivan until it had 180,000 miles on the odometer. It still ran when I parked it but 1st and 4th gear no longer worked due to the A shift solenoid went out.
Funny that you mention the 98 Trans Sport... My family has one lying dead in our driveway for the past couple years because the electrical system went on the fritz... Why not get rid of it? Spoiler Its cheaper than buying a shed to store animal feed along with other things...
The Uplander came out in 2004 for the 2005 model year, sporting GM's relatively new 3.5L "High Value" V6. Iron block, aluminum heads, pushrod V6. Id made its debut in the 04 Malibu making 196 hp in the Malibu and about 201 in the Uplander. It was slow. FUN FACT: GM won an award with this engine, as it was the first OHV engine ever to use Variable Cam Timing.
Interior shot of the cargo version... And this is what a Dodge Grand Caravan sounds like... ^that is mine in the video...
Sheesh, that pulls better than most cars I've owned, it'd smoke my Toymotor Crammy (Corolla)... Lookin' Sweet. Now we'll have to mod some mini-stigs in car seats for the back for added entertainment when I drive it off the cliffs that seem to be present in ALL of my maps (No, really, they all have cliffs, this is a car accident game and lest I forget the mission statement). Your awesome @RedRoosterFarm , just truly awesome, and thanks again for the signs in my ROANE COUNTY map. They still look the part!
As stupid as this may sound, I think a police minivan version is needed...You know, for community events, not actual patrolling. As nice as the other variants look, this would be my favourite to smash up, since it looks so stupidly hilarious, I had to suggest it.
