Thanks for all the name suggestions. We thought about which could be used for the military version of the B1 & we actually came up with our own name based on all the suggestions. The name in question is: Battle Ready Wheeled Terrain Scout aka BRWTS The idea for such a acronym came from atv_123 as he noticed that people somehow got Humvee from HMMWV... & as you can see, the pronounced name has no 'W' in it, so with that in mind, we thought about adding it to our name just to be "realistic" ( ) and because of that, we came up with BRWTS. You may ask: "Gee, Sith, how does that name make sense in any way? It kind of sounds stupid..." I'm glad that you ask. The acronym calls the vehicle a "Battle-Ready Wheeled Terrain Scout" because when you think about it, the real Humvee was used as an offence vehicle to fight with enemies but also, at the same time it was used as a scouting vehicle together with a pack of soldiers to scout the terrain & find the best paths or roads for military convoys to go through. I know, an amazing name concept of which I totally didn't think of at 4:04AM while trying to get some sleep... but what can you do, if you can't sleep at night because you have thousands random thoughts going through your mind So with that, I would like to thank everyone who contributed by suggesting a name for the military variant, your help is very appreciated, as otherwise we probably would leave it named the same as the "normal" variant
I like it. I was having the same thought about integrating a "W" into the name, but I had no idea how to do it. Good job! I would like to add, though, that the HMMWV was never designed as a front-line vehicle; it was in fact designed to be used as a behind-the-lines transport unit over rough terrain. Then, since there was no better vehicle available at the time, soldiers pressed it into service fighting against rifle-toting, IED-using militants. Since it was unarmored, survivability (esp. against IEDs) was impaired, so kits were built to uparmor the vehicles. These kits reached the point where the weight was so great that the vehicles' suspensions collapsed and the engines overheated. This explains why it performs so well at offroading and so poorly in actual combat. Hence it's being replaced by the JLTV.
haha le epic funny maymay im literally pissing my pants right now hahahahahaha im going to make two other accounts so i can rate your post like, agree, and informative
Call it the GGFOBBVV (go go fast over big bumps vroom vroom) Lol anyways, I actually really like BRWTS it fits very well with the HMMWV acronym and I think it is fantastic for the military versions.
Dang its been a hot minute since anyone has posted on here i hope the modding is going okay, and atv has moved into his new house.
Things are a little complicated, but they are winding down... hopefully in the next few weeks I can get to working on this again.
Boom, you just added a week of delay to the release for not reading the dates & other posts properly. You would know that by now it's almost all handmade, with some certain meshes taken from the game
*After three more people don't read before commenting* "You know what? I've decided to release this in 2021."
