Also, the accuracy of the model is excellent and quite impressive. I tried making a side view drawing of an H1 slant back the other day, and it took me like 4 tries to get the proportions right. And of course, a 3-d model is far more difficult to make than a completely 2-d drawing. Mind you, I used only my memory as reference material.
Well, the accuracy is just for the exterior, where the inside is another story... Like for example the dash & interior (seats probably too) won't be like on the real one, just to give it that official BeamNG car vibe But it should be driving like the real deal
Problems arise Well, haven't been posting anything meaningful here for a few days, so I decided to write/show something... Sadly, it's only bad news about the car & my inability to think logically while modeling it. Few days ago, when I talked with atv_123 about replacing the previous Brutus body with the new one, there were some scaling issues (because I made the body in a new file) so trying to align the new one with the old one would take some effort. After that, he noticed that the previous body & the frame of the car are out of proportions! So now, I am on the way to try & fix the mess I made while not following a blueprint for some reason... The worst part is the rear part of the frame & suspension, since they both were sitting too high up, making the body clip into them quite a bit, so now I have to move some stuff around & scale it, trying to make all of that be in it's actual proper place like it should've been from the start... This discovery might delay the release date by a few days because atv_123 would need to redo the neccessary jbeams so the car would work correctly, so I'm sorry for that Hopefully it won't be as a big pain in the a** as I think, so after that mostly the texturing will be left, together with glowmaps For the moment, try to enjoy this picture
As long as you finish it eventually I don't really care. We've waited this long, and we can wait a little longer. I'd rather wait and have a higher quality mod than get a botched one a few days quicker.
Yeah, the long time of development made me kinda be sad... Wanted to make the car in like 9 months instead of a whole year
Not to be mean, but you do know that that picture was taken in Blender right? Even if I was using Hubwheels, it would be rather difficult to use them in Blender. I am using the more modern Pressurewheels in the JBeam. No worries. When this thing is released it will be using the most modern BeamNG features. Pressurewheels, engine and brake thermals, new powertrain... the works really. There will be no depreciated code in this thing unless it somehow magically releases the day after an update with new features... which then I would probably hold onto it for another day so that I could update it to the newest features.
Almost there I'm almost done with repairing the stuff which I broke earlier, so there's now just the dash, interior & inside of the body left to do. I know I said it was less work left, but in the last few days I didn't do much on the car (took a little break), so now I'm trying to catch up with what I have to do & also fix the clipping meshes
Soon™ So... Few days have passed without me saying anything, nor showing anything. I have to say that I am working on the finishing touches, like adding details to the engine bay etc. just to make the car more enjoyable One of the biggest issues that still remains is the interior, which will take longer than expected to make (sorry). As for other things; it now has a fully made inside of the body, seats (which I temporarily took from the Roamer), dash, probably everything regarding the drivetrain, and now I'm working on adding the engine bay details, like i said earlier. I hope to release it as an early WIP Beta soon, after atv_123 makes the proper interior & gets everything ingame. Hopefully you are still excited for it, since I haven't seen many people act all excited for it, even though I've been showing constant(ish) progress... Let's hope it's just me, & this car will be the best car mod out there for BeamNG
Are you gonna call it the Brutus B1, or the Gavril G1? If it is the Gavril G1, I'm a little disappointed. There just seems to be too many Gavril fan cars.
