Update 4/23/14: I finished the bumper and started the hood. Screenshots below. Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
I played around with it but couldn't get it to do what I wanted so I'll just copy and flip it when I get there. Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
Don't do so many polys on the bumpers ..Those are useless polys because they don't do anything to the structure of the bumper. (They are not used to make the shape more spherical or more smoother and they are not used for any extrusions or stuff like that) One tip I have: try selecting an edgeloop and delete it. If it doesn't change the shape of the body then keep it deleted. Do this until you have a nice structure of evenly spaced out edgeloops like you have on the trunk lid. Also try to space out the polys on the front fender. Anyways, good luck with your project. Looks better than my first "playing around" with blender Forgot something: You will notice in the future, it's way better to work with a simple structure at the beginning until the near end. After you finish most of the chasis, THEN you can start adding details. Just keep it simple for now.
Oh, Thanks! So I continued along with the hood and realized that I'm not really getting the curvature. Is there an easier way of doing this than dragging each row of vertices up a little until the curvature is right? Screenshot below.
I'm so sorry about not getting updates in, I've had a ton of homework and yesterday was the first day of Karting Season in NY so I'm so busy. I'll try to get more updates in this week or so. Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
Do you use blueprints or just hand modeling and sometimes you look at some reference ? Its VERY recommended to set up blueprints (in case you dont have).
Yea I set up blueprints on Right, Front, Back, and Top view. I also watched tons of tutorials on setting them up right (Moving and Scaling)
So I decided to switch this thread back to work in progress and actually make progress... which I did. I made symmetrical and stuff, but when I did, I accidently made it wider than its supposed to be. I'm thinking to just run with it and modify it to a more racey appeal. I'm thinking cowl induction, fender flares, and body kit. Screenies below.
Glad to see your back to work on this! I would like a racing version, but a stock would be cool to. I really like the idea of both Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Blockman! So before I start really badly messing things up, I would like to know how to get mirror modifier set up so it stays symmetrical. How would I do that, I can't seem to find that specific of a question on Google?
