Hello. I have been playing around with blender for a while and decided to try to make the simplest car I could think of, the Lancia Delta. I have no idea if this is a good start, but I also have a question. Why is the rear bumper a different color even though it is the same material as the rest of the car? Screenshots are shown below.
Nice! Good luck. In regards to the bumber, check the normals. I see you're runnign v2.70, so to check normals go into edit mode and highlight the whole bumper. From the panel on the left go to the UV tab and press Recalculate. That should fix the discoloration.
Thanks Maj_turbolag. I got myself into a bad position though, I did the back, so now it is nearly impossible to do the front with my blueprint. Is there a way to hide part of the car? Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, there is. In edit mode, select the part of the car you wish to hide and press H. This will temporarily hide the selected meshes. To bring back the selected meshes, Press Alt-H while in Edit mode. They do not need to be selected to reappear. It's best to do this while in Face-Select mode so you can see exactly what faces will disappear. Going back into Object mode will show hidden meshes. They will disappear again when re-entering Edit mode.
Thanks! I don't really like these cars, but they are the simplest ones I could think of, so I probably won't do an Integrale. I'll most likely move onto some Chevys. Thanks a lot!
I did the front lights and grill so now I just have to do the bumper. I couldn't give a pic because I got kicked off my computer. (My computer is in the family room {with the TV} and it is so loud when it's on that my parents make me turn it off when they want to watch TV. And I learned to never anger the people that feed you.) (sorry for the lengthy explanation) Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
ahh the joy of living with your parents glad to see another members starting the modelling journey, good luck bud cant wait to see your product in game.
Thank you all for the motivation and help. I probably won't be able to get in some modeling because it's Easter. (Yay Easter) (NOO last day of spring break) (ARGG no time to model) Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
Looks Cool! (Off topic: if your going to make more Chevys a suggestion would be a 79' K5 Blazer. There pretty simple.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Update 4/21/14: I have not finished the bumper yet, and I have not added the black plastic on the bumper yet. I did finish the lights and grill, and started the bumper. In regards to a wire frame, I forgot to take a screenshot of that so I'll take one after school tomorrow. Screenshot is shown below. Edit: Sorry the car is so small in the pic, I'll get better pics tomorrow. Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
Update 4/22/14: I have only completed a little bit more of the bumper because of homework. Also, I got some pics of the wire frame. The more I work on this, the more excited to see it completed. Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
Yea it is still a WIP so it isn't that smooth. I'm also waiting to mirror it until it's mostly finished to keep it symmetrical. Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
Might I suggest you do some research on the Mirror Modifier tool. Very handy for doing symmetrical modelling. Whatever you do to one side applies to the other automatically. And when you're finished, apply it and it will create a full mesh.
