Thanks for the update, the heating system lever is neat and everything else! One small annoying thing though is that at daytime, the red and green oil pressure and generator lights are barely visible, most likely because of the new lighting system. Other than that, everything is nice!

I just need to say it as well; this is probably my favorite Beetle update to date. There were so many little features and additions added this update (or that I at least discovered) that blew my mind! I am so thankful we finally have the 200mph speedometer in the game (and the KM/H variant respectively).

On top of that, we have new eyelid variants for Herbie, which is ANIMATED and allows you to let him blink on command?! Just an absolutely INSANE addition that I haven’t seen anyone mention! On top of all the now fixed parts and bugs, the bug drives better than ever! That’s just what I’ve found so far, and based off other people, there seems to be even more to find! If this is a sign for what’s to come in the future, I’m beyond ecstatic!

With all these new parts and fixes, I’m getting back to work on an improved “Jim Douglas Era” Pack. Mr.X, you’ve done a phenomenal job! I can’t wait to see what you cook up in the future!!

I found a lot of these when customizing the car myself. They might not be on the actual cars yet

I had a feeling it wouldn't take long until someone discovered these "hidden" animations.. they are unique to the Fully Loaded config only. ;)
    Glad you enjoy the update!
Mr.X, dropping fantastic work as always.

Wow! The original themselves haha! Wild to see ur name pop up in the forums. Yeah, if these have been hidden away all this time, what a crazy cool thing to eventually find! Now I’m wondering what other Easter eggs have been hidden away! Thanks for the original version of this mod all those years back now, it was one of the big reasons I got Beam in the first place!

No, both animations are fresh. We have added that with the new update.
Depending on my free time, I may get to "hide" more Herbie related things in the future ;)

I’m excited to see what you guys have cooking then! It’s cool to see you’re still involved in this! The Beetle and Type 1 mod are truly standouts when it comes to Beam mods!

(If suggestions or ideas are on the table, perhaps a few of the small things from the TV show from the 80’s? It’d be cool to see Herbie with the driving school sign or the heater switch!)

Yes. How could I ever fully cut ties with it...only if I were cold blooded.
Over the course I could only tune into the newest things every now and then though and thus stayed in the background. Life changed a lot and I needed to focus on graduation and now job. Back then I had just too much of spare time while I still was in school. Its insane to me now that its already >8 years since the release?!? It feels like 2-3y max to me.

After painfully watching the mod getting more and more broken with every game update, it was wild to see what Mr.X has made from it and we of course got in contact quickly. I've followed the project closely.
The jbeams got so good (from literal junk jbeams that were pretty much just deformed ingame parts), the heavy model optimization and material reworks ... and most importantly the mod now has regular updates.

There sure are a lot of open ideas on our minds what we would like to add next, a few of them will be selected and make it into the next updates.
But the cool thing is that we don't think the exact same way: I'm a Herbie lunatic and care rather peripherally about the rest.. + Mr.X is pushing overall mod quality to max.
Couldn't have been more happy with the decision to pass the handle to Mr.X and let him continue the version line under his name.
But every now and then there may be some minor or major details added in by me that then will likely be related to Herbie content.

Something I've noticed is that you can split the car apart like the Bolide... any possibility of a trigger to separate it more cleanly than this?

About the animated bumper, what can it do?

It allows you to tilt the front bumper forwards and backwards, like what was done in Herbie: Fully Loaded to make Herbie more expressive. There is also animated eyelids that you can make blink, which served the same purpose in Herbie: Fully Loaded.

The keyboard button for the bumper was shift, alt, and W iirc

Could you do the wheels that Herbie used in The Love Bug when Herbie was first seen, Herbie Rides Again and in the 1982 series?

Hey guys, I noticed you added in an official Herbie horn, but it’s just the quick two-honk. I managed to extract a pretty clean tone of Herbies from the original movies; feel free to use it if it’s possible, idk how BeamNG handles horns and looping. Here you go! LMK if the attachment worked (edit: attachment didn’t work, fixed in later post!)

Well, I don't know anything about coding, but I'm happy to help with Finnish translations :D

Great! Please use the version with VW branding (not AW) for translation. The AW files will be down more less automatically.
Please unzip the mod and look in the folder locales\translations There you find two files: One with the English original and the German translation.
The file is using the JSON format and consists of a "key": "value" pairs. You only need to translate the "value" part.
It's recommended to use something like VisualStudio Code for editing.
