what do you use to play? keyboard & mouse, a controller (like 360, xbox one, playstation, etc, etc), or a steering wheel (such as a logitech g25, g27, g29/g920, etc, etc)? because it sounds like you're flooring it everywhere, which isn't how you'd typically drive a car from the 1950's

I decided to investigate the overheating error. I chose a green Dual-Matic as my guinea pig and mercilessly floored it on Utah highway, even slightly hitting a tunnel wall once. After traveling for 4 minutes mostly at full throttle and speed over 100 kmh (62 mph), the engine began to overheat. After one more minute, the performance decreased greatly as the engine suffered damage. In another minute, it was dead.
So, the verdict is: unimpressive performance, but nothing extraordinary considering its age.

I can get it to overheat in 2. Also I'm more annoyed that the high performance radiator seems extremely good for the car but I'm not sure if that's a aftermarket part. Either way I'm just annoyed that the police version just seems pointless to use without a sightly better radiator.
The biggest problem to me is that the drag version of the burnside is the best long distance drag car while the youngest (moonhawk) is the worst at long distance drag racing.

Also I use a keyboard, too poor for a wheel and I haven't used a 360 controller in forever. So that's the problem I'm kinda stuck with.

I use a keyboard as well. I tried to replicate your problem by spawning another green Dual-Matic on the empty grid map and putting on cruise control set to 280 kmh. The car was continuosly accelerating all the way up to 185 and really overheated in two minutes and broke down in three. But I don't think that's how you drive a 50s car.

I even managed to beat the 2 minute time! After one and a half minute of more or less spirited driving at Limerock Park track, the car overheated. The engine seized in three minutes.

The only reason why I'm annoyed at this is that other cars from around the same time mirmar, barstow, moonhawk, have none of the overheating problems except in the drag versions which is backwards. Yes I know 10 years can mean a big diffrence but a V8 putting down around 2 to triple the power as the burnside is bound to make way more heat.

So besides ranting anyone noticed that the performance stats are incorrect? The Burnside custom is suppost to be slower then the dual matic.
    update: according to the game.
Update part 2: They are right but still don'st make any sense.

Yea, yea, bump but I don't care. The Burnside needs to come in pink.

Yea, don't worry, that's what I've been doing. But I'm just surprised that pink isn't one of the standard colors.

Yeah I really do wish there was a pink stock color for the Burnside.

One question though, why were the default configuration colors for the Burnside changed? They used to look like reasonable stock colors for a 1950's car, now they look odd.

To me they seem find (except the drag). But I do think there needs to me a bit more of paint design.

Even the dirt brown color for the V8 seems realistic to me.

i like the new colors, they suit the beautiful car that is the burnside. i would like that they would fit nicely even if i choose another color. Ex. i spawn a green/slightly darker green Dual-Matic, but if i chose in the color selctor a blue one it doesn't spawn in blue/slightly darker blue. that bugs me a bit

The new brighter colors make me think of the Cuban car culture. Which makes me sad that we don't have weird engine options for this car.

Even the stock tires on this car clip through the frame and other parts slightly. The frame clipping is fairly noticeable in that picture, the rest is more noticeable if you try to install wider tires.

Also, the complete lack of tuning options for the basic 313 makes me sad.

I know everyone is excited about the new Bluebuck, but the Burnside is still my fav.

    Some things:
    • Cars in 1953 did not have hazard lights / emergency flashers
    • The 313 should be have an option for a 2 or 4-bbl carburetor--this would have been a regular option in the late early 1950s
    • The fuel tank and frame come through the trunk floor in rear end collisions
    • These cars would have been a 6v electrical system, which would result in longer cranking times and dimmer lighting
    • It doesn't catch fire in crashes as frequently as it used to; was that intentional?

Just a few nits to a great car.

I hope there's a late 1950s vehicle based on the Bluebuck frame that comes soon (Chevrolet started the X-frame in 1958, so it could work), then we'd have a great spread of cars from the early and late parts of each decade from the 1950s to the 2000s.

Personally I would love to see a Fabulous Hudson Hornet inspired stock car skin, maybe even including an engine bay made to look like the twin H power set up. And the 2/4 door sedan/hardtop treatment the Bluebuck got.

And I'm still begging for gassers =P
