To be completely honest, If they end up making a USDM rebadge, I'd rather see it be a Bruckell than a Gavril. That way, since the production overlaps with the H-series, it could fit the lore that Bruckell needed an answer to the van market, so made a deal with ETK to sell the Marathon in the US and Canada as the Bruckell Marathon or something. Maybe a Wentward version of it too, that way the Freightliner version could be accounted for. My head canon is that Wentward was only associated with Gavril in the 80s and 90s as an independant company, in order to make the school bus upfit on the MD chassis. In the early 2000s, Wentward was bought by Bruckell, and cancelled any ties with Gavril they may have had. That's the little rebrand I would love to see
Dodge doesn't really make sense because they made a RAM Promaster which is based off the Peugeot Boxer, not the Sprinter or Crafter --- Post updated --- Dodge doesn't really make sense because they made a RAM Promaster which is based off the Peugeot Boxer, not the Sprinter or Crafter
I'm excited for this, since the devs are hesitant to add a eurovan, maybe this will be the saving grace for everyone who wants one
And, looking realistically, having both a Bruckell and AW rebadge wouldn't be an unrealistic idea, because, around the same time that the Sprinter began being sold as a Dodge in the US and Canada, the Sprinter was also being sold as the Volkswagen Crafter in Europe. Of course, if one was to be truly realistic with it, the AW rebadge would need a completely different front end, which would take more time to model, and, unless it was to be part of a future update for it, would end up delaying it's initial release.
which is why i suggested a Bruckell badge first. i'd imagine it'll be way easier to make a MPH gauge, bruckelly bits and other USDM doohickeys than an entire new front end
Exactly why I suggested Bruckell and Wentward, that way both USDM variants are accounted for, and it's easier to make than a whole other fascia, fenders, and interior bits. Not to mention, it gives the option for a great deal more variety, such as a Belasco police van, or a Firwood school department van.
A van has never looked this good I swear --- Post updated --- Makes sense tbh: Dodge irl did rebadge Sprinters and still does it with Ducatos
That's seriously impressive. The proportions already look very accurate, and it's always great to see a scratch-made project instead of another edit. Looking forward to seeing how the different variants turn out, especially the camper and chassis cab. Take your time with the JBeam side—quality mods are worth the wait. Good luck with the project!
