I BEG YOU PLS STOP adding useless menu transitions. It makes the game feel sloppy. (cool truck tho thx)
Overall I like the update. Performance, especially at sunrise and sunset, seems to have improved and the trip computer is finally working again. Still missing a replacement for the ETK 900 (European E-segment electric and petrol car) though. Unfortunately at first glance the Cherrier Percheron as a three axle semi truck seems to have the same issue as old truck models in Euro Truck Simulator 2. I've only had a quick look, but I think either the shortest 6x2 taglift / 6x4 chassis is too long or the fifth wheel placement or king pin placement is not quite right. I'm not quite sure, as 3.1 m wheelbase for the shortest 6x2 taglift / 6x4 seems realistic and 3.7 m for the 4x2 as well. To my understanding though, the shortest 6x2 taglift / 6x4 chassis should allow for the same distance between the cab and the front of the trailer as the shortest 4x2 and 6x2 midlift configurations, otherwise you would be over-length in real-life with a standard EU trailer. In real-life there is not enough clearance between the rear of the tractor and the trailer legs with this configuration though. To solve this, trailers in real-life are offered in "Nordic" versions with the trailer legs placed further to the rear.
For those with broken rendering using DX12 with Proton on Linux: You can switch to the native Linux version of Beamng as shown in my screenshots below. This should work fine until Beamng/Proton patches come out in the near future. Switching to Vulkan on the Windows version via Proton wont even let me start the game with an error. Sadly i had no luck injecting a better upscaler for my RDNA2 GPU with the Linux native Vulkan version of Beamng. I find the visual clarity of FSR3 rather unpleasant. So using a FSR4 INT8 dll via Optiscaler or even HelixSR would be great. But as far as i know thats only possible with DX12 for now. I'm aware of the dedicated Linux thread. But since i've seen a few posters here already with the same issue, i thought i answer here first.
Download the "Adrenalin 26.9.2 WHQL (Optional)" driver from AMD's website by manually selecting your gpu model and do a clean driver install with DDU application. There are tutorials on youtube for clean driver installs for an AMD gpu. Make sure to install the latest chipset drivers as well if you have an AMD chipset.
Since ARM is now supported on Windows, will it be too much to ask for native Apple Silicon support? ️️️️️️️️ Once again the game became unplayable with Crossover. This time I barely have any env textures rendered with DX12. With DX11 they appear after a while but I have freezes even on Gridmap v2.
Parts selector with camera trying to focus on every selected part (and failing most of the time) is the worst interface experience I've ever had. Not being able to disable this "feature" is the biggest disappointment I've ever had. @So, while parts camera remains broken for the most part, rest of my post is no longer accurate. Thank you so much for pointing this option out.
You can turn it off. Go to the "Other" tab in the vehicle configuration menu and then disable "Part camera".
I can't see anywhere on the forum where you've actually posted a bug report or anything. If you can do that, with some detail of the problem, I can take a look. Thanks.
I really like the idea of the occupants, specifically the player ones. I know this is a small nitpick, but I think it would be so cool to change the color or even add new accessories like hats to them. I know that would be more beneficial in multiplayer, but I think it would be fun!
It would be cool if you can hide them as well from the cars, in case if you want to do commercials that look good
