i have over 1000 mods but most are broken due to 0.39. didnt expect it to come this early, and didnt want it this early...
I'm really worried about where the game is currently heading. Higher GPU (and possibly VRAM) requirement in the middle of rampocalypse. Less sandbox-y over time: laggy dashboard meter needles, 335 mods hard limit, car spawning hard limit(not a fixed number, needs further testing). Allowing third-party platform to dictate or restrict game content or gameplay, I hope this game doesn't devolve into Ready or Not (the game censored bloody content on console release then censors the PC version to make them "consistent" as well)
even with mods deactivated, it still runs like crap. i have an msi pc, gonna add a new hard drive, i have the 3060, any other game runs like butter, not 0.39 though...
SPAWN MY GODDAMN CAR YOU PRICK i feel like traffic and this limit don't play nice with each other, because sometimes i'd have this pop up and only like 1-2 cars will actually load. did read they'll do something with this limit, which is nice in the meantime, any way (like a command) to get around this?
i thought 0.39 would come out in a few months, now i cant do touge! what do i do FM? crappy old assetto corsa?
The higher requirements are unavoidable if we want to make the game actually look good. Imo we couldn't release it on PS5 with as outdated graphics as it had. We really tried our hardest to offset that, but it's not reasonable to expect better FPS with better graphics in all possible scenarios. (We did a lot of performance comparison testing though and in some cases the switch from DX11 to DX12 resulted in actually improved FPS on West Coast map specifically.) What do you mean about laggy dashboard needles and how does that make the game less sandboxy? It's definitely not on purpose. We never added any mod limit. We are investigating why mod manager has issues with high number of mods. If there was a limit it would straight up tell you. Car spawning hard limit was added first for the PS5 and it worked really reliably there to prevent game crashes. We decided to port it over to the PC version hoping it will help against that too, and from our testing it seemed to work fine. But we can see now it's too restrictive in practice so we will remove it. We don't have any bloody content so there is nothing to censor? We removed alcohol references but that is unrelated to PS5 port, it was to prevent a possibility of the game getting blocked on Steam in some countries with strict laws about that.
Loving update so far but have the problem linked. also some weird performance issues but im sure your aware of them.
i found a annoying bug where it will spawn like 2 traffic cars it need to be fixed as i want police but when i was on italy there was only 2 cars and i have the traffic slider to 15 This is whati am talking about
Well the games performance is abysmal. I'm not talking about 5 to 10 fps decrease, I'm talking about going from 80 fps to 20! https://www.beamng.com/threads/performance-issues-with-new-update.110638/
I have a few suggestions: Make the speed of auto exposure adjustable. No computer screens or digital cameras can match the dynamic range of human eyes. If the game's auto exposure mimics human eyes it'll be a disadvantage. Increase the auto exposure adjustment speed to compensate that. Add an "HDR" mode. Cameras with "HDR" usually takes two or more pictures at the same time with different EV, then merge them into one picture. However this will probably makes the outdoor ground darker than the lights in a tunnel. Less realistic but might help on screens with bad color space
I played through the tutorial and it seems a few of the "do something in the menu" requirements don't actually trigger if you enter the menu in a way the game does not expect. For example the "spawn a new vehicle" only accepted when I entered the vehicle menu from a keyboard hot key, not through pausing the game and navigating to the vehicle selector. And some of the others were the other way around where they would only trigger if I entered the menu from my dualshock controller, not through the keyboard.
