The issue with the truck that does not start seems to be back from 0.34. In 0.35 I managed to play it, but got 3 stars each time regardless of the damage. In 0.36 the truck starts veeery slowly and the mission considers it destroyed although it has like 500 points of damage and can move easily. It starts later, when I already have ending screen and even then it crashes and does not make even it to the first cannon. Fix please. It was one of my favourite missions
The graphics handling model and vehicle selection all seem to get better with each update and the attention to detail is truly something to admire, but not all is without fault and I have some critiques. Here are a few things I have to say: Bad "modern/clean" main menu UI Saving career is like playing russian roulette Worse career missions md serious needs some beefing up to prevent the steering and fuel tank breaking too easily poor choices and mixed messages This breaks down to: Putting "career" on the main menu despite being "experimental" with the broken save function Shifting resources to work on the useless "Quick Start" that's juts a few handpicked scenarios That could have otherwise given us features like spawning cars and configs without hard-locking the game, or even just to fix saving career progress (more on that later). Let's start with the main menu, it's just bad. 8 options in total, 4 of which are playing options and 2 that I actually use that take me directly to a game mode. I do use the folder to access a few other things, but that's part of the problem, I shouldn't need to enter a submenu just to choose a game mode. Yes, plenty of games have submenus, but that's within a game mode. This on the other hand is just clutter and feels like it too, like taking all the junk from your house and dumping it in one room. This isn't just criticism however, I do have an idea of what I'd like to see. Categorize everything on the main menu. Here are the 3 categories I have in mind (and what I would like so see under them), names could be whatever makes most sense. -Main Everything supported oriented around playing the game. Free Roam, Career, Scenarios, Rally. Please for the love of god remove the greyout and "coming soon" on career and rally, instead just put on an "experimental" tag to make it not look odd, after all you're clearly promoting career, so why should this stuff be greyed out? -Scene / Modelling / Tuning / Cinema / Content Creation This is a hard one to categorize and I assume this fundamentally why the devs threw in towel, however I feel this has to be done or remove some things from the main menu. Garage, Track Builder, Replay, Stats. -legacy This is obvious, everything legacy. I might make a concept in a few days of how exactly I envision it Next up saving career. When career first launched I had no issues saving the game, this was 100% reliable and I never lost sleep over it. A few game updates later and career saving started to show it's first signs of issues, but this wasn't concerning. Career was experimental maybe this was just a hiccup. Come to now (even v35) saving is god awful and completely unreliable. It amazes me how this was able to get as bad as it is. Now that's not my only nitpick with career, (this might be personal preference) however, the mission difficulty has been increased too much for a casual game. I can spent multiple days and still not get two stars on time trials and rock crawling now has strickter bounds (I found it impossible to do one mission without reversing) as well as now being invisible! And that's on top of having a career that won't save, so days of little progress go completely to waste! For time trials the 2 star times should be 3 star time and then pick a new time to make 2 star. For rock crawling, I think it's very logical to let the player make some cowboy moves crossing corners slightly, so long as they remain on the track, the old bounds were completely fine. This is relatively minor, but I wanted to include it anyway. The md series, specifically the armored config is hilariously vulnerable to frontal impacts (specifically weak steering/wheel parts) and fuel tank. Cool truck though and love all the new configs, just beef this one up a little, tnx. Lastly, I get the impression that some bad management has been going on, because there were decisions made and others not. The "quick start." What's wrong with it? Well credit where it's due, I do the potential of randomly generated chases, races and driving route, BUT that's not what this is. These are just a few preset scenarios and once you've completed them, it's just a useless button on your screen. Please change it to random scenarios tnx. I love BeamNG, the dev team are no doubt hardworking and I certainly feel I got my money's worth (honestly I'd pay at least £40 for this game). But since development is ofc still going on and someone might hear voice, why not try get this fixed and prevent the game from going to crap? For anyone that got this far, I greatly appreciate it. Please, fix the problem with gauges animations. It used to work in 0.34, 0.34.2 versions, but now it doesn’t. In 0.34.2 needles of tachometer, turbo and speedometer are moving smoothly. And now it is clumsily as it was before the 0.34 update
I discovered that in one of the pictures in the v0.36 changelog, the license plate on the prison bus is a reference to @Nadeox1 (aka the spinning cube)
As of the latest hotfix 0.36.4, the Burnside Special still has issues with the lighting, as the left tail light and right turn signal don't fade out smoothly, in addition to the fade in/out seemingly being the opposite of what it should be (fading in slowly and out quickly; realistically it would be the opposite.) The front fuel cell also still doesn't work with nitrous oxide; when using only the front fuel cell, the engine acts as if there is no fuel in the tank when nitrous oxide is installed.
I don't like the new redial menu either, not having all option on-screen PLUS having a menu that changes is just the devils work. It's looks fantastic, but functionally is horrible to use. I'd like the functionality of the old radial but with the look of new radial, ie put the main options on the radial not on a bar at the top.
I'd imagine that it's not meant to be a reference, instead Nadeox was taking the photos and forgot to turn off the Steam username license plate
