0.20 Discussion thread | Use Safe Mode before reporting

    I had the same with the Tograc, broken windscreen that didn't get fixed when reset - I did the same again with a 'new' Tograc and I couldn't replicate it

    I have the "Only water and sky visible / No setting is being saved" problem but my user folder cannot be changed

    Its because when you recover it can go through somethink and broke the Glass. You need to broke it again with nodegraber and restart it.

    I don't understand how to change my user folder to C:\BeamNG.drive. Everytime I choose this new empty folder as the user folder, the manager closes and when I reopen it, it's back to C:\Users\Fran├žois\Documents\BeamNG.drive

    As I've seen you don't choose any folder, just leave emply string for selection. You have SELECT folder ICON before hitting SELECT FOLDER button.

    Bugs I've found:
    -Text is missing from the intake slot on the Miramar 1.9L SOHC I4
    -Roamer and D Series sport mufflers break immediately with the 4.1L I6 and 6.0L Diesel V8
    -Roamer V8 Roadsport LXT configs spawn with regular muffler instead of sport muffler
    -Roamer LXT35 Police Package config spawns with the Stock ECU and Intake, even though it is post facelift and should have the Late ECU and Intake
    -Hopper Trackday config has Basic rear brake pads instead of Race pads
    -Don't know if this is a bug or not, but the D Series and Roamer 4.5L and 5.5L V8 engines are now significantly less powerful than the same engines in the H Series, Grand Marshall, Hopper, etc, with the same superchargers. For example, the Roamer 5.5L V8 with Stage 1 Supercharger makes about 290 HP, and the same setup makes about 350 HP on a Grand Marshall. Also, the Late Intake is very close power-wise to a Stage 1 Supercharger. Again, not sure if that's a bug or not, but it doesn't make much sense.

    The developers removed the garage in 0.19 because "Garage mode and access to the Garage level have been temporarily removed pending improvements to the way the Garage is integrated into BeamNG.drive gameplay"

    For the ETK800 (and ETKc) you need to put any engine/transmission based jbeams in the 'common' folder, as the original ETK engine and trans are also in the common folder and not the vehicle one. Happend with some eletronics on other cars after the update to v0.20, too.

    Has anyone noticed that the shipping containers have a big space between BeamN and G?
    EDIT: speaking of shipping containers, it would be nice to have the shipping container available as a trailer for the T-Series.

    EDIT: I have a system-wide issue not related to BeamNG; my apologies.

    I just downloaded the new 0.20 update and now I can't get any map to load. I can't CTRL-ALT-DEL out of the game window, then my screen goes blank and my computer hard resets, every time. A couple of times I saw a BSOD for like 0.5 sec but it wasn't long enough to see what it said. It always crashes as it starts to load the map after importing everything. Things I've tried:

    - Verify integrity of files - reports ok
    - Safe Mode - crash
    - Temporarily move my BeamNG.drive folder out of My Documents so that it runs with no old settings or mods - crash
    - Uninstall the game, delete the folder in steamapps\common, and remove the My Documents folder. Redownload the game in its entirety with no old settings - crash
    - Restore a backup to the previous version in steamapps\common and in My Documents - everything works fine

    No idea what to do. I just did a fresh Windows install like a week ago and all my drivers are up to date. Tested stability of CPU & GPU extensively with no problems, and no other apps/games cause issues. Here are my PC specs in case it helps:

    Intel 9700k @ 4.9GHz / ASUS 1080 Ti (not overclocked) / 32GB RAM 3600 MHz / Dell Alienware AW3418DW 3440x1440 120 Hz monitor / 2TB SSD for OS & games / Windows built-in virus protection only.

    If I can help in any way, I certainly will. I don't know the inner workings of BeamNG but I am a savvy computer user.

    Edit: The BSOD reports "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED" but I didn't see a 00x0000xxx error code.

    Edit2: I just determined that I have a system-wide issue and not one that's only related to BeamNG. My apologies.

    Does it filter slot candidates by the folder now? It definitely worked prior to 0.20...

    EDIT: well that worked; thanks! I have no clue why they changed that now when it's been fine for the last however many game versions, but moving specifically the transmission and intake parts to a new common folder in my mod's "vehicles" folder allowed them to show up.

    Make sure its using your high performance gpu. it should be located in nvidia control panel.

    I don't know if anybody said this before but the FOV resets everytime you switch from Free Camera Mode to orbit camera. Also the "smooth rotation camera" is different now, when you go forward isn't smooth, it stops like the free camera mode.

    I apologize but I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I changed the power mode to "Prefer Maximum Performance" but the crash still happened. The integrated graphics on my 9700k are disabled in BIOS so Windows does not see it at all.

    I have a few suggestions regarding additional layouts for the Time Trials mode. In no particular order:

    Automation Test Track:

    Highway Run (white) and Airfield Drag Stage (purple), with possible way to link up both of them (red)

    Highway Loop Alternate (yellow), with possible alternate layouts (blue and brown) to differentiate it from the original High Speed Highway.
    I don't recommend the red section in the bottom right, as that's not a good layout.

    Backroads Course Alternate (all possible layouts), although I favor the brown sections the most.

    Map:

    Industrial Highway Loop (white), with possible alternate layout (orange) and extension (pink). The blue extension into the port is...a bit funky, while the red hairpin would destroy the flow of the alternate circuit, but might be the only way to utilize that hairpin for a time trial. I do not recommend using the black extension, as that would not work for almost any circuit.

    Italy:

    Mountain Loop 1 (white), with three possible track extensions (red, yellow, and orange).
    I wouldn't go with any of these extensions, as I don't think you could fit a T-Series or Wentward through them. But they're there.

    Il Quattro Citta (The Four Towns) (yellow), with possible alternate layouts (pink and blue), and a layout that leads to Fastello and back (red):

    This is a bit of an odd one. I'm not sure if it should be included, but I'm throwing it in, anyway, as I think it's an interesting circuit.
