The vehicle sounds can be returned with mods, I know that there was at least 1 mod which added the old Covet sounds.

What maps are you using it on? I really have no other ideas except conflicting mods.
It still works absolutely fine for me so I don't know what your problem is.
My best guess is that you are using the arcade controls which could've been broken this update. I only use realistic so that is my only guess.
