WCUSA is 4 square kilometers like ECUSA, they even said it was ECUSA's counterpart. Italy is the map that will be 16 square kilometers.

Is the heightmap in the right folder? Is it a 2048x2048 png exported from L3DT?
laptops aren't better than desktops. the specs may be better but laptops have smaller screens and also don't last as long

Get a heightmap first of all, terrain.party is a good place to do so. Then resize it in L3DT to 2048x2048, save it as a PNG, and save it in...
Sometimes windowed mode can glitch out causing this issue. Solution: Always use fullscreen.
I would just reinstall Beam and avoid that mod again.
Be aware that the old versions are much less optimized than they are today, so it will be laggy.

Before you use a 2D map overlay you'll want to make sure that the 2D map covers the exact same area as the heightmap or it will be an inaccurate...
