Ever wondered what happens when a 1920s logging operation tries to build a steam locomotive using nothing but heavy commercial truck parts from the 1990s? The answer is this monstrosity.
Lovingly crafted using advanced 3D fixture work, this fully detailed wood-burning steam locomotive hides a terrifying, modern secret beneath its iron boiler: it is actually a massive, 4x4 heavy-duty commercial truck frame masquerading as a train.
Driven by an absolute unit of an engine and boasting a completely custom-detailed cab, boiler, and tender, this is the ultimate vehicle for plowing through traffic, crushing commuter cars, or simply roleplaying a logging run gone horribly wrong on the roads of West Coast USA.
- The Heart: A massive, custom 10.9-Liter (664ci) Cast Iron Boxer-6 engine. It chugs out 347 horsepower and features a highly realistic, low-revving 3,500 RPM steam-engine redline.
- The Drivetrain: A heavy-duty, permanent 4x4 system with a 2-speed manual gearbox designed for pure, low-end pulling torque.
- The Weight: Weighing in at a colossal 5,311 lbs, this "train" carries a massive amount of kinetic energy down any road it encounters.
Huge shoutout and credit to Filman86 for the incredible Shay chassis mod that made this entire project possible!
- It drives exactly like a steam locomotive sitting on a truck chassis. Take corners slowly, or you will tip this boiler into a ditch.
