Scorpion S30 (1950) 1.0

The Face-lift that changed more then just the vehicle itself

  1. Phantom Wolf
After the moderate success of the 1949 S22, Scorpion now had a case on their hands. As what seemed to be poised reviews from papers and journalists alike. The vehicle itself from consumers was poorly made and not up to scratch compared to the last one; from complaints about the steering wheel coming off during a bump in the road to door falling off after they'd been washed, Scorpion was poised to make a better car against the communities promise of doing so

And with the budget and fund set, they made a car that seemed up to scratch with the current situation of the early 1950s. But there was a bigger problem plaguing Scorpion. After the Tail Control System in the S22 had faulted. Being one of only many cases within that generation of the vehicle, Scorpion decided to play it safe by throttling the vehicle speed on the S30 to 100 km/h. The problem with that being that there was a 5.2 Litre Inline 6 within the vehicle and according to reviews, it was "cutting more than Three whole genuine quarters of the true engine power off". To coincide with the previous problem, Scorpion had also made a newly monocoque body for the vehicle which was not able to handle the Inline 6 engine at the time, causing car accidents to be way more severe then what the company had planned. With that, the company had only sold 1,246 vehicles created just $14.5 Million in profit with 474 refunded due to safety concerns and faults; and more than 600 written off
