Range Transmission for Trucks

  1. Neo
    Hello there,

this mod adds a range selector to the gearbox of trucks (currently only semi). This mod requires a gear shifter. It allows you to select gears from -2 up to 12. After subscription you have to configure it. This video shows all steps necessary:

    Have fun with it ;)

The ability to split to high range on a H-Shifter has always been something I wanted on Beam-NG, and for being able to add it, I thank you.

There is one problem though, for some reason, I cannot shift into 11th or 12th, only up to 10th, because if I go for 11th, it puts me into 5th, and the same for 12th, it gives me 6th again?

The reason for this might be because I didn't remove the default bindings for the gears, so I have both assignments for the default shift patterns and also the "RangeMod" commands, Maybe that is the issue?

Yes, you don´t need the default bindings anymore. The modded bindings behave like the stock ones if the vehicle has no range splitter. I did this this "inconvenient" way, beacause my main goal was to not overwrite any game files. The trade off with the one time binding at the beginning was the best option I have found.

Mod is excellent, the only thing that will stop me using it, is that when you enter the options menu, the car will reset. I think it's because that app you need to enable for using the mod but IDK haha. Hope you fix this!

Oh, yes I see. I will definetly fix that. That annoys me quite a bit too. Sorry for the inconvenience. Wait for the next update ;)

    Hell yeah range shifting!
Will you add specific patterns like eaton 13&18 speed, zf16 speed etc.?

Hey, thanks for you feedback. My next goal is to implement a splitter function. The range transmission is easier to code than the splitter transmission. When I´ve done that I think about different shift patterns.
