The Nero 500 uses the 2.,0l inline 4 turbo from the previous model, the 446.
Nero decided that the about 190hp were not enough, so they made a 2.3l version with different turbo settings and much more advanced tech to get 300hp and 450NM of torque , also as a 170hp N/A Variant avaiable.
In late 2003, they wanted to compete in Rally championship and made a car together with Ford-Volvo. So the rally car used a tiurbocharged inline 5.
The homologation version uses the same engine...with the same settings.
The ultra-rare 500 SXR R5XTR has >400hp and a crossdrive awd system.
