Your Next Opponent Is You.

GhostReplay lets you record your driving and then drive alongside it.

The replay is a real vehicle in the game with the same car, setup and inputs, so you can compare racing lines, chase your own best run, or have an opponent to race when nobody else is around.

    • Record any car you are driving, with its full setup and paint, including mod cars and parts.
    • Press play and your replay sets off right next to you (you can change the playback delay in the settings).
    • By default your replay is not solid, so it will not hit you or block your way.
    • An optional name tag above the replay marks the replay vehicle.
    • Play, rename, delete or inspect your replays from the in-game app.
    • The interface is currently available in English and Simplified Chinese.
    Installation

    1. Drop .zip file into your mods folder.
    2. Restart the game and open the GhostReplay app from the UI app list.
    How to use

    • Press Record, drive, give the replay a name or leave it empty, then press Stop & save.
    • Select it from the list and press play.
    • Language: English / Simplified Chinese (default: English)
    • Sync rate: 120 Hz by default, adjustable from 60 to 300 Hz. Higher values follow your original inputs more closely and produce larger recording files.
    • Collapse direction: Up by default (up / down / left / right); which edge the app docks to when collapsed.
    • Show vehicle tag: on by default; shows a name tag above the replay vehicle.
    • Tag text: GhostReplay by default, can be customised.
    • Playback delay: 0 seconds by default. Waits before playback starts, so you can get into position first.
    • Smooth position/heading: on by default; makes the replay vehicle's movement look smoother.
    • Replay car collisions (test feature): off by default. When enabled, the replay car collides with your car for real. Still in testing, not recommended.
    • Replay vehicle vs. scene: no collision: on by default; the replay car will not hit terrain, buildings or other scene objects. Still in testing, not recommended.
    • On player vehicle reset (test feature): Do nothing by default. When you press R to reset your own vehicle, the replay can restart from the beginning or stop.
    • The Restore defaults button at the top of the settings page resets all of the above.

    Notes

    • A replay is tied to the map and game version it was recorded on; loading one on the wrong map will show a warning.
    • Mod cars and parts used in a recording must also be installed on your PC, otherwise the vehicle configuration may load incorrectly.
    • Works on BeamNG 0.39; other versions are not guaranteed.
    • Collision for the replay vehicle is still in testing. Enabling it is strongly discouraged when the two cars touch, they may clip into each other or blow up.

This mod may have bugs. Bug reports are welcome!:)
