This thing is great. Realistic, too, as someone well acquainted with a 2010 Highlander Hybrid. MPG is maybe a little optimistic though, I hit 89 highway (ish). But still, I love this thing, keep up the great work.

I also like this mod a lot, since a hybrid is something new & unique to BeamNG. But I think the dashboard is missing a proper indicator for the electric motor usage. I had a hybrid in real life at one point (a Honda) and it showed how much the electric motor was being used and if the battery was being charged (when braking). Your blue indicator just shows if the car is in EV mode but nothing else.

I do have a UI app that I'm eventually going to add additional elements to. I'd like to add a custom dashboard but I'm not sure how moddable the interior view instrument clusters are on the cars

This is an AWESOME mod! I love how technical it gets, especially with the planetary gear sets! However I feel like there should be WAY more electric motor torque instantaneously. You really gotta bury your foot in it for it to start moving. This only flaw is what lets it down for me. Otherwise great!
-
Author's Response
Some of the torque is not available if you punch it due to the fact that it's starting the engine at the same time; if you put it in EV-only mode or hold gas + brake at the same time and then let go of brake, you'll get more instant torque

Probably the single best mod out there! Keep it up ;-)
Small question: Was this based of an Passat GTE?
A friend of mine has one. And they drive pretty similar :D-
Author's Response
I based the "feel" of driving on the '06 Highlander Hybrid I used to drive on a regular basis in addition to the Volt I drive now, but I'd assume any planetary-based hybrid will drive somewhat the same :)

Love the hybrid idea in general. Would love to see this implemented onto the D-Series!

Hypermiled! With the ETK856 I got 16.6MPG and with the ETK856th, 42MPG!
-
Author's Response
Nice! Especially around town, the hybrid system really helps gas mileage a lot. On my old IRL Toyota hybrid, I'd get 26 on the highway and ~32 in the city.

does it mess up the game? I always assumed it'd be smart enough to clear out old filenames. I can remove the version from the filename when I upload it in future versions

This mod is super well made! My favourite part by far is the debug mode! Cool to see how it all works. Please keep working at it!

One of the best mods in beam ng drive, but, the ev mode and the mode for charging the batteries doesn´t work for me
-
Author's Response
I'm guessing there must be a change in the way input mapping works in the new version of the game. I haven't had time to sufficiently test the mod in the Halloween update, but I should have some time tomorrow and this next week to do so

It's good but in Arcade mode the doesn't want to go backwards, it can only go in realistic mode and it gets confused too much. (I couldn't find the disscussion tab/thread)
-
Author's Response
I've never even enabled arcade mode so I have no clue how it works. I can see if it's possible to fix it, but it's best to just use realistic mode with the hybrids.
I've been trying to figure out how to set up a designated discussion tab/thread, but for now, I've been handling discussion in my "hybrid system overview" thread

really good mod, have you considered making a sunburst hybrid aswell? that would be perfect
-
Author's Response
I'll probably make it for other vehicles too, but right now I'm trying to make it as consistent and polished as possible before branching to other vehicles

It's a very nice mod that's well put together. I like the app that goes alongside it. I made an electric version of it based off this mod that has a 60KWh battery instead of 2.

Great mod overall but the gasoline engine sound keeps kicking in when i start the engine and the electric sound only works sometimes.
-
Author's Response
The electric sound is proportionate to how much power is going to the motor, so if you're not accelerating a lot, you won't hear it much. The engine will kick in any time you accelerate too hard or go too fast unless it's in "forced EV" mode toggled by pressing "E"

It will not work for me. I can't find the eCVT transmission option. Any ideas on what could be wrong?
-
Author's Response
Have you tried restarting the game since subscribing to the mod? Also, if you have any other mods installed that would change the ETK800 powertrain, there is a chance they might conflict with the device options for the ETK

- 3/5,
This mod is wonderful. One problem though. It seems to be incompatible with the regular configs in the game.
-
Author's Response
I think I know the problem you're referring to...there's an actual bug in the game itself when a vehicle with custom powertrain devices is loaded before any other vehicles. If you load another vehicle (not another configuration, another vehicle altogether) before loading the ETK800 or the Citybus, you should then be able to switch to a normal configuration just fine.

Great mod :) , Maby an special tachograph like the golf GTE? An lower end configuration with a 4 cyl. engine?
-
Author's Response
You can actually swap the built-in ETK I4 engine in and it'll work fine ;) I didn't include a configuration for that, but you could save your own. I haven't found a way to do custom tachometers yet but that'd be a neat idea

Excellent mod, now we can have the torque of an electric car, and the speed of a gasoline car!
