Hi, this mod really tanks FPS on some machines. Tried with and without (enabled and disabled) only this mod on 3060 gpu and noticed drops of about 40-50 fps. I sit at a comfortable 165fps at my monitors refresh rate and with this mod i cant get higher than 90

Much needed improvement with the last update. Besides that issue, the mod was amazing. Mod is now perfect in my eyes. 10/10.

Great mod! I love how stable the view is when bouncing down a rocky road. Still having all the feeling of the cars movment. Works great with "Beam Eye Tracker".
My one wish would be: is there a way to add a setting so you can move the seat (view) from Driver to Passenger and back? Right now, we can move up, down, tilt, forward, and back. But if the view is too far driver, you cannot move the view more center or the other way. More of an issue with mods than Dev. vehicles. Amazing first Mod!-

It won't be very easy to be able to attach the camera to the passenger seats of most vehicles, sadly. Official BeamNG vehicles do not have a camera node placed at the passenger seats, so my mod doesn't know where to place the camera without explicitly coding where the seats are in each vehicle.

Hey, awesome mod, love it. Sadly I speak no git, but the code snippets you are looking for to hide the apps can be found in the old "Look Ahead" Cam mod. Main part:
if self.disabledCockpitApps == false then
--pretend to be the driver camera
guihooks.trigger('onCameraNameChanged', {name = "driver"})
self.disabledCockpitApps = true
end
Works perfect for me.-

Thank you for this. It works! I have submitted update v2.5 with this added in. Should be out soon when the admins approve it.

this is so good. is very good for automation cars as the cams on there are stiffer than stiff. also, looked at the wiki (the wiki, not documentation) and find that to make the ui apps invis, you type in "cockpitCamera" this might not work but it could. the wiki shows this example "[0.336, 0.10, 1.12, 65, "f1ll","f1r","f2ll","f2r","f8l","f8r",{"cockpitCamera":true}] //Cockpit camera is used by the UI apps to disable apps when in cockpit view" to keep it with the rules of it being a review, this is a review and this is a good mod

Huge thank you to the creator of this mod! It made offroading in VR so much more comfortable. I made a little review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzaoB1daJ7k

I didn't think this could improve the games in car view but it is fantastic. The realism of when you go over bumpy ground and the car goes from side to side and other things is amazing.
It really does add to the realism of the game and I thank you so much for this. :)
Hope you had a great Christmas and have a superb New Year and successful 2025! -

I installed it out of curiosity, but this mod is a masterpiece, I use trackIR and since the installation the game has changed beyond recognition. In my opinion, this is the best mod on the forum at the moment. You're a champion, man!

A mod I never thought I needed! Only small issue for me is that when I minimize the menu, it doesn't stay minimized after going into the game menus, e.g. changing vehicle. It goes back to the maximized view. Any way around this?
-
Author's Response
Yeah the minimize doesn't save when BeamNG re-renders the whole app UI. I'll have to find a way to get the minimized state to persist through that.

This mod is of high quality, frequently updated, and has caused me no issues that I can recall.
BeamNG is not just a vehicle simulator, it's a driving-experience simulator. With the additions of motion blur and more clickable buttons (and vehicle systems to use such buttons for), BeamNG continues to get closer and closer to realism than anything else on the market EVER.
Modders like Austint30 are incredibly important as they support the cause with heavy dedication, and should be recognized for such. Many respects to you, modder.
5/5 stars for the mod overall.
2.0 was a large update! The bug fixes and improvements are great, but most important, you added VR support! VR is great for immersion, and I love seeing it.
5/5 stars for versions 2.0+.
I also love seeing such frequent bug fixes, even for such small problems that other modders may see as trivial and simply ignore. Take pride in perfectionism; do not see it as obsessive. Your work is masterful.
5/5 stars for version 2.3. -

This mod is superb, been using it for ages. I'm just curious what broke FoV adjustment in earlier versions? As it was such an unexplainable issue. Thanks!
-
Author's Response
I had accidentally added fov to the wrong variable. While the dynamic fov worked, I didn't realize it was using the defaultFov field instead of fov. I don't mess with the fov manually much so that's probably why I had missed it.

Works right from the outset, had not adjusted anything, provides a realistic driver POV cam for offroading and feels much better than vanilla, similar to Enhanced Chase Camera. TBH I think this should be renamed to Enhanced Driver Camera, because that’s precisely what it is
