D-Series Sedona 1.1

The highest trim level that Gavril never made!

  1. Ealan120
In the late 1990s, Gavril planned to launch the Sedona trim. It would have been an ultra-luxury package designed to be the absolute pinnacle of the D-Series lineup. It boasted a plush, updated interior and a distinctive, upscale quad-headlight front fascia. However, the project was abruptly canceled due to sudden changes in federally mandated fuel efficiency requirements. These strict new regulations forced Gavril to rapidly redesign the D-Series exterior with a much more aerodynamic front end, which ultimately became the curvier, late-model facelift version produced from 1998 to 2003.

Because the blocky Sedona design was shelved, Gavril repurposed its unique quad-headlight fascia for the H-Series van lineup instead, as it faced less stringent efficiency standards under the commercial vehicle category.

Beyond the exclusive styling, the Sedona project served as a testbed for Gavril’s chassis engineering, featuring a revolutionary heavy-duty Independent Front Suspension layout across the entire lineup, even on the heavy-duty dually configurations! Had it made it to production, this would have been revolutionary in the pickup truck world!

Only six fully functional factory prototypes of the D-Series Sedona were ever built. Originally destined for museum vaults, they remain the ultimate holy grail of Gavril history! Now, you finally have the chance to get behind the wheel of these legendary, lost machines!

Here is a list of the six Sedona prototypes:

    D15Sedona.jpg
D15 Sedona - Gavril's marketing team predicted that this specific trim and configuration would have been the most common and sold like hotcakes!

    D15SedonaStepside.jpg
D15 Sedona Stepside - This would have been the iconic classic throwback variant, in the Sedona trim!

    D25Sedona.jpg
D25 Sedona - The heavier-duty version of the D15, with a powerful diesel engine, in the luxurious Sedona trim!

    D35SedonaDually.jpg
D35 Sedona Dually - Heavy-hauling and luxury seem impossible to combine, but this bad boy makes it happen!

    D10Sedona4Door.jpg
D10 Kentarch Sedona - A massive luxurious family hauler with 3 rows of seats and lots of cargo space, in the elegant Sedona trim!

    D10Sedona2Door.jpg
D10 Charro Sedona - A sporty, short-wheelbase masterpiece that wraps Gavril's high-end luxury Sedona package into a rugged two-door body, making it the ultimate rare collector's item for off-road enthusiasts!

    And, as a bonus config:

    D15SedonaDefault.jpg
D15 Sedona Default - This config is not part of the lore, I just thought it would be neat to include the legendary default vehicle of BeamNG.drive in the luxurious Sedona trim!

    What this mod actually contains:

-The H-Series passenger van's high-end early front fascia was added to the D-Series and slightly modified to fit the D-Series' front end. The fascia was also given a slight point in the middle to mimic the look of the real-life GMT400 platform.

-The hood, fenders, and radiator support of the D-Series were modified to fit seamlessly with the slightly pointed H-Series fascia.

-Custom-made bumper, bumper lip, bumper trim, valance, and license plate holder were added to fit seamlessly with the slightly pointed H-Series fascia and also mimic the look of the real-life GMT400 platform.

-Existing D-Series jbeam was modified to match the shape of the modded parts (hood, fenders, fascia, valance, bumper, etc.)

-Custom-made badging on the fascia, rear cab pillars, and tailgate (pickups only) is included.

-Custom configurations using these modded parts, plus existing vanilla parts, are included. These configurations use the late-model D-Series interior and the Gavril AllSport two-tone wheels to give that late 90s luxury vibe.

    - The "Sedona trim" is a play on the real-life "Silverado trim" of the GMT400 era.

I love this Front end, it looks really good on most of my D Series builds i got, although a couple things! Is there a possibility to update the headlights to be the Halogen style and can the Sadona hood be able to have the Bug Shield added onto it? Again a very lovely mod and something I wanted for the D Series for a while

Looks very good. Making late versions with a "Cateye" grille would be interesting too.

The headlights and front turn signals don't support the smooth halogen system and the hoods don't open on all sedona configs. You can force them open by breaking them, but they don't open via interaction or radial menu.

Ah yes, a piece of unpaid DFA. Now we need a pack of Knoxhall upfits to compete with the DFA utility beds...
