A plug-in hybrid powertrain for the vanilla Cherrier Vivace. A real P2 layout instead of a sound swap: the 1.6 turbo engine, a K0 disconnect clutch, an 85 kW electric motor and a 6-speed dual clutch transmission, all simulated as separate powertrain devices.

    How to use
    • Spawn the Cherrier Vivace and pick the config eHybrid.
    • Tuning menu, category Hybrid: e-boost, regeneration, EV top speed, e-motor sound, AVAS volume.
    • Use the drive mode button to switch between the hybrid modes.
    • Do not switch the engine off by hand. The hybrid controller starts and stops it.

    Powertrain
    • P2 e-motor: 330 Nm up to 2460 rpm, 85 kW, up to 85 kW regeneration.
    • K0 clutch between engine and motor: pure electric driving with the engine standing still, "flying" engine starts where the motor drags the engine up to speed.
    • eDCT6 6-speed hybrid dual clutch transmission. Ratios modeled on a real 6-speed hybrid DCT: 3.003 / 2.380 / 1.589 / 0.875 / 0.609 / 0.555, R 1.890.
    • The stock DCT shift logic runs on the real rotor speed. The tachometer shows the actual engine rpm (0 in EV mode).
    • Smooth torque handover when the engine switches off: the engine's torque is ramped down while the e-motor takes over, then the K0 opens. No gap, no jolt.

    Drive modes
    • E-Mode: electric up to 130 km/h. The engine only starts above that or with an empty battery.
    • Eco: the engine does the main work at reduced boost, the e-motor fills in, gentle charging up to 30 %, coast regeneration.
    • Hybrid (default): starts electric, the engine joins on kickdown, above the EV top speed or below 12 % charge.
    • Charge: the engine charges the battery by load point shifting up to 95 %, also at standstill.
    • ePower: sport setup, engine always on, full electric boost.
    • ESC Off: hybrid strategy with ESC, TC and the e-motor slip control off.
    • Kickdown (95 % throttle) always gives full electric boost when the engine runs, after the downshift is done.

    Energy storage
Six combined parts in the fuel tank slot: 40 L petrol or diesel tank with an 8.8, 13 or 19.7 kWh battery. The battery sits under the rear seat, so the weight shifts slightly back and up. Starting fuel and battery level are set in the tuning menu.

    Cluster and centre screen
    • Hybrid Digital Gauge Cluster: power meter (charge / electric / boost), engine rpm arc, EV indicator, battery and fuel gauges, trip computer with L/100 km, EV share and kWh/100 km, ranges that learn from your consumption.
    • Cherrier Hybrid screen branding: an energy flow page on the centre screen with a top view of the drivetrain, live kW values and animated energy paths (blue electric, orange engine, green regeneration).

    Also included
    • Pedestrian warning sound (AVAS) below 30 km/h in EV mode.
    • Electric launch torque that fades in over the first metres, plus its own slip control for the e-motor.
    • Automatic engine restart after a stall, with an electric limp mode if the engine will not start.
    • If the hybrid controller ever fails, the car falls back to driving like a normal petrol Vivace.

    Debugging
Open the console (~) and filter for vivacePhev. On spawn you should see:
    Code:
p2HybridDct aktiv: DCT-Logik arbeitet mit Rotordrehzahl
    Log messages are in German.

    Notes
    • Adds new parts and one config. No vanilla files are replaced.
    • Made for BeamNG.drive 0.39.
    • Fully compatible with my Cherrier FCV Infotainment (MRX2YS5FJ) mod—unlocking dedicated on-screen settings and controls directly on the dashboard display when both mods are installed

Based on BeamNG's Vivace and electric motor code.

good mod, but electric mode is broken.

Thanks for trying it out! I just released version 1.0.1, which fixes an issue where the electric motor didn’t start when the car spawned with the ignition off. That might be what you ran into. If electric mode still doesn’t work for you after the update, could you tell me a bit more about what happens? For example, which drive mode you were in and what the car does instead. Then I can take a closer look. Thanks!

The UI is excellent. However, I noticed that when the default ignition state is set to Off, the motor fails to start and only combustion power is available. When the default ignition state is switched to Running, everything works properly. Also, I hope to have thumbnail images similar to those of the official vehicles.

Thanks a lot for the kind words and for testing it so carefully! Good catch with the ignition: when the default ignition was set to Off, the electric motor didn’t start up. That’s fixed in version 1.0.1, so the hybrid system now works no matter how the car spawns. I also added a proper thumbnail for the config, like the official vehicles have. Thanks again for the feedback, it really helps!
