Beta Advanced Engine Tuning and Wear 1.4

Adds advanced tuning options and wear to combustion engines.

  1. 0.40 Support

    Jesus Goose
    • Updated mod to support new 0.40 engine features (mostly sound changes/fixes).
  2. General Fixes

    Jesus Goose
    • Fixed issues with rev limiter causing the engine to run lean.
    • Fixed issues with modded traffic vehicles causing errors.
    • Fixed alternators causing the engine to violently explode and very rare situations on low rpm.
    • Adjust turbo oil leak logic.
    • Fixed issues with rev limiter causing incorrect AFR and overtorque damage on diesel engines.
  3. Traffic Fixes

    Jesus Goose
    • Fixed simple traffic not being filtered with the new loading method.
    • Fixed setting choke to 0 causing vehicle instabilities.
  4. Starter Battery Fix

    Jesus Goose
    • Fixed starter battery not being detected with the new method.
  5. Loading Fixes

    Jesus Goose
    • Changed combustionEngine lua override to use new safer methods.
  6. Diesel Runaways and Oil Ingestion

    Jesus Goose
    • Added realistic oil ingestion simulation. Oil that makes its way into the cylinders is now simulated as fuel by mass, allowing diesel engines to run away given the right conditions. Too much oil in the cylinders will flood (hydrolocking planned) the engine and will need to settle back to the pan.
    • Separated rev limiter and ignition states from the throttle calculations, they now only affect fuel delivery. This allows for diesels to runaway even with the ignition off.
    • Added oil...
  7. Minor Fixes for V0.39

    Jesus Goose
    • Minor changes for V0.39.
  8. Alternator and Starter Wear

    Jesus Goose
    • Added alternator and starter condition and wear effects.
    • Fixed oil pump and filter conditions not saving correctly in career mode.
  9. Compatibility Fixes

    Jesus Goose
    • Fixed issues with older mods and vehicles.
  10. Oil Pressure and Parts

    Jesus Goose
    • Added oil pressure and flow simulation. While not being based on an actual fluid simulation, this should be a good estimate for relative oil pressure and flow amounts for engine wear and cooling purposes.
    • Added oil pump and filter simulation and wear. Wear rates are still experimental but seem to be close enough for now.
    • Internal engine cooling now utilizes oil pressure and flow.
    • Increased oil starvation affect on engine wear.
    • Adjusted engine thermals.
