Outstanding mod! One comment I'd make is that the 200BX V6 engine is rather underpowered for what it is. The game's stock 2.0L I4 makes 3 hp more and 4 lb-ft torque less than the 3 L V6, which doesn't seem right for the displacement. I'd suggest an increase to around 200-250 horsepower and 200ish torque. This isn't a big enough complaint to warrant a negative review, but merely a suggestion. Update: I read your comments about the ETK V8 not needing any more power, since it'll just spin the wheels. Here's my two cents: cars almost always have more than enough power to activate ESC. For example, my dad's Toyota Sienna, which has 266 horsepower and is front wheel drive. If you jam on the throttle, you spin the wheels. It's fine for an engine to have more power than is strictly necessary. Plus, wheelspin is caused by excess torque. In first gear, engine torque has the highest multiplication. As the car accelerates, and reaches higher speeds, the torque is multiplied less, and you can utilize more power without spinning the tires.
Don't know if this works still but here, (I forgot who said this)" For those who need the Performance Statistics Autotesting for their car: -Go to your steam folder -> steamapps -> common -> BeamNG.drive -> lua -> ge -> extensions -> util -> saveDynamicData.lua -In the line "local vehicleFolder = nil" change nil to "(name of the folder of your car)" (like "etkss" or "pickup". You need quotation marks.) -Run the game normally, load the autotesting map and then in the console type: "extensions.loadModule('util/saveDynamicData')" If you change vehicleConfig obviously you can select a single config. line 57-58." Also you need to download the "autotest" map for the testing. PM me if you need it.
For some reason, I wasn't getting notifications here, sorry for the wait everyone. I've increased the torque in the V8 by a bit and made the sport intake do a little more, as well as added 2 turbochargers for it. It does feel much better. I will be sure to redesign the curve in the 200BX V6, thank you for the info That works? Awesome! I'll be sure to get that in next update. Thank you! Doesn't the autotest Map come stock ingame? I'll just copy the levels.json I to levels/autotest and change it to be visible.
The Sunburst electric motor doesn't seem to appear in the parts menu , apart from that its a great mod . p.s. I've installed and re-installed a few times and also cleared the cache.
You first have to select the "Electric Unibody" helps with organization, and I was testing with ESC because ESC + electric motors = instability.
I love the variety of this mod, but one 'issue' I found was that when you add a turbo to the ETK V8, it over torques the engine and blows up after only a minute or so of hard driving.
This mod is pretty good, and I like a lot of the engines it adds. However, there are a few minor problems. First, the VTEC engines appear to just be higher revving versions of the stock engines, and don't appear to have any actual VTEC. Also, many of your engines are identically named to engines in the UCP. I am aware you help make those engines in the UCP, but having two almost identical engines is kind of annoying. If you could rename them to differentiate between yours and the UCP engines, that'd be nice. But otherwise, this is a good engine pack, and I love the custom noises.
I originally removed the engines I made from the UCP before giving it to the new owner, but they added them back. Thanks for telling me, I will be sure to rename them next update. About the VTEC, I'm not an expert on it, but I took the curve from a real engine with VTEC (forget the car, was one of the first engines in the pack), and it does lock HP for a few 1000 RPM. Maybe you're thinking of a power increase for when VTEC kicks in instead of just keeping horsepower? I can do that next update, but I'll have to find another curve, I can't create it in the 2 applications I use to simulate engines. Thanks for your feedback
Yeah, there should be a noticeable bump in the torque curve when VTEC kicks in (yo!). If the data points you're using were spaced out though, the game would've just smoothed it over. Also, keep in mind the values the game shows are at the flywheel, while most online sources show at the drive wheels. Usually adding 10% or so will correct for this. Example of VTEC below
I seriously don't understand why this thread gives me notifications only sometimes. Ah, good to know. I'll be finding a new engine shortly. The first 10 or so engines are based off of real cars, increased to compensate for wheel torque/flywheel torque with the tool found in the utilities sub-section. The next 10 engines were from Automation, and the ones after that are from atv_123's tool, which is very useful and realistic, but not complete yet. Because of this, most of the engines have a calculation for every 100RPM, but the ones based off real engines are every 500-1000RPM. I might redo those later on, but for now it's not too big an issue. The 3L doesn't have a configuration yet, but @MilanKD is working on making tons of configs for the next update. I'm trying to get 2 sounds to work currently (a big heavy diesel from Spintyres and an electric whine from the Nissan Leaf), but I can't figure out why it won't work. That's why there's an engine for the T-Series that's a super diesel with no sound. Once I get it working, the first thing I want to do is get an engine that can roll coal (as much as I hate those kinds of people) that uses that sound for the D-Series and H-Series. No guarantees about how long getting the sounds to work will take or if it's even possible, but it's been top priority for a while now. --- Post updated --- Could you find me a stock VTEC engine? I can't find anything with VTEC that kicks in quite that hard, I've tried the S2000, the Legend, Accord, Prelude, etc.
That's odd, it shows up on my screen. If there really is a problem, it's already fixed in the next update because I tweaked the torque curve of the v6s.
