AND the WCUSA quarry, maybe it'll get an expansion too, who knows! There's some other great maps it could be used on too like Johnson valley. You can go anywhere with a vehicle like that since it's so open. River highway is pretty broad too, I reckon you could drive it on the street easily there
Hmmm... The WCUSA quarry could get an expansion dug into the mountain next to it, under the mountain road. Space is still at a premium at this spot of the map though. I don't really know if Johnson Valley can get a quarry expansion either. It certainly has the proper size to get it the way it should be, but I'm not really sure judging by its sandy desert ground morphology. River Highway, albeit a mod map, is very nice, its roads are great for driving and it has plenty of different areas for exploration.
Well it doesn't have to. It could totally just be unapologetically large. I mean, the only way they drive on real roads is in disassembled pieces. As for the quarry question I'll say Johnson Valley might get some sort of expansion, since it's now featured in the new cover, but the location apparently does not exist in its current iteration.
Beamng is still a game remember, a vehicle that cant drive on 90% of the vanilla maps would just be stupid and useless lol
Not really, there's no point if you cant even drive it in 99% of locations. Plus the current haul truck tires suggest something intermediate at most, like a 773 or 775, not a vanilla version of the BelAZ. At that point they might as well add dump truck parts as props instead of a vehicle Though you do raise a good point about the Johnson valley icon, there's a chance that they expand it and add a quarry. It would make sense if they're adding extreme tier vehicles to the game, it's the best map for it - plus I'd love the highway to fully loop as well
It's definitely not going to be extremely huge, but it being a quarry truck won't be small either. Johnson Valley would be perfect since it's got a lot of huge open areas.
Oh yes definitely going to be the biggest vehicle in the game. Probably can destroy the T Series easily
It certainly will be the widest (and likely the heaviest and tallest), but if it's going to be similar to the Cat 775 (as you and Coolman have said), the Wentward will still be longer than it by a few meters (the Cat 775's 9.2m long, while the Wentward's around 12.6m long).
Is too soon to tell but if we see an infotainment teaser of what appears to be energy monitoring like the prius has digitally. That'll confirm it for sure they went all the way with hybrids and im gonna be happy
I hope they add the ability for coils to explode lmao --- Post updated --- My money is on a mechanical diesel powertrain for both vehicles, I just don't see them making a new powertrain on top of two brand new, already complex vehicles. But I hope so because that would be sick, though I'm expecting a 20-25L V8 or V12
Personally I don’t think we will see diesel-electric or hybrid drivetrain because the devs seem to have a particular preference for 70s to 90s cars and trucks and prior to the 2000s I can’t find any medium duty off-highway trucks that had it.
It might not be a preference, but more so that there are already so many vehicles in that era that making new vehicles with their parts is quite a lot easier. (Pre-2000s vehicles also have fewer electronic systems that modern cars tend to have.) Some examples of this for full vehicles are the Wendover/Lansdale (which share several parts with the LeGran), Wigeon (which uses a shortened Pigeon frame), and MD-Series (which shares many parts with the T- and D-Series). This is mostly because back in 2011/2012, when the game was first being developed, '70s-'90s vehicles were more common and cheaper to buy and find parts for. They make sense as good starter vehicles for demo-derbies or entry-level races. They were also simpler to develop - and when your dev team is very small and you need to build a lot of cars to fill niches, that's quite handy. However, there have been quite a few vehicles in recent times that share barely any parts with the rest of the roster. The SP twins only share engines, a few suspension components, and some off-road parts with the Hopper Crawler and D-Series Crawler. The Autobuggy uses the doors from the Piccolina for its classic body shell, along with the Piccolina and SBR engines. Finally, the Stambecco, Wydra, and Aurata share practically zero parts with any other vehicle. Most of these have their production runs start after 2005, but none of them have electronic aids. (The Nine also barely shares any parts with other vehicles, with the only major exception being the Gavril small-block engines and transmissions for the custom frame.) The wheel loader and haul truck might share the V8 from the T-Series, but that's about all I think they would share with other vehicles. The wheel loader and haul truck might come close to the Stambecco and Miramar for longest continuous production run (the Cat 775 seems to have started production as early as 1994, while I've found Cat 980s that were produced as early as 1973). It would be nice to have multiple versions/facelifts for these big goobers - one problem with the SP twins, Autobuggy, and Wydra is that there's so few extra parts for them.
I don't think those two will share many parts with the others vehicles (if at all), so I don't think an hybrid is impossible (and if I understand right, those hybrid systems are basically electric vehicles powered by a traditional engine and we already have electric vehicles, it might not be too different to implement? Its not like a modern standard hybrid where you have different modes and they can work together at the same time to advance the cars). I think currently its unlikely, but not impossible.
Guys I have something to tell you. I noticed something that confirms it's going to be a front loader potentially in articulated one. Maybe. Here. We are getting a tow truck or a crane truck.... A dump truck... And a front loader. Look at the thing I circled. Its a rear engine front loader. If thats true we may see all sorts of PTO upgrades. --- Post updated --- The clear theme here is industrial construction and HEAVY MACHINERY
