    Hello :) .

Welcome to the Modder’s Bill of Rights.

THIS is the Modder’s Bill of Rights.

So, I was doing something (I don’t remember what, something useless probably) as something plopped up in my (full-of-useless-stuff) brain:
There should be a Modder’s Bill of Rights page on the forums.

Maybe it already exists idk I’m too lazy to check (I don’t think it does). BTW sorry for my bad English, I am German.

You can mention this anywhere on the forums by crediting me: @GoblinGreenGuy

But enough talk: I present you the

    Modder’s Bill of Rights

    Article I — Recognition

    • Modders have the right to be credited by name whenever their work is shared, showcased, or used.
    • Reuploads without permission are a violation of this right.
    • Proper attribution strengthens the creative ecosystem and ensures history remembers the contributors.
    Article II — Creative Freedom

    • Modders have the right to develop at their own pace without harassment, rushing, or demands.
    • “When relez?” spam and pressure undermine creativity and quality.
    • Patience is a form of respect.
Article III — Ownership & Protection

    • Modders have the right to control distribution of their work.
    • Unauthorized monetization, piracy, or theft of mods is a breach of this right.
    • Communities must defend creators against exploitation.
Article IV — Safety & Integrity

    • Modders have the right to a safe environment free from harassment, malware accusations, or malicious sabotage.
    • Mods should never be weaponized with hidden viruses or shock content.
    • Trust in the ecosystem depends on integrity.
    Article V — Compensation & Choice

    • Modders have the right to choose whether their work is free or monetized.
    • Patreon, donations, or paywalls are legitimate if creators decide so.
    • Players may disagree, but they must respect the creator’s choice.
Article VI — Celebration & Feedback

    • Modders have the right to positive recognition when they release updates or new projects.
    • Constructive feedback is welcome; toxic criticism is not.
    • Communities thrive when updates are celebrated, not demanded.
    Article VII — Community Support

    • Modders have the right to collaborative encouragement.
    • Fellow players should help with bug reports, testing, and respectful suggestions.
    • A supportive community ensures mods evolve and improve.
    Summary

This Bill of Rights frames modding as a partnership: creators bring passion and skill, while communities provide respect, patience, and recognition. It’s a taxonomy of respect — Recognition, Freedom, Ownership, Safety, Compensation, Celebration and Support.

ChatGPT, present me a bill of rights. Style it a bit like the Declaration of independence.

this is the most AI generated thing ive seen in a while, i also add, the em-dashes are a thing no one would generally use and you are also mentioning points that are well, already covered by the forum rules, which youd probably know, but ai wouldnt know.

I ran your original post through GPTZero and it showed that everything except the introduction is AI. Anyone technologically competent enough will notice the very clear shift in writing style.

This is what it shows when I got rid of the introduction (before the blue text). No other changes were made.

To your credit, this isn't a terrible idea. However, most of this is either listed under the forum rules (please read these, they're important) or just basic netiquette that is (or should be) learned within the first couple months of using the forums. But please, don't pass off generative AI as your own writing.

I am going to jump out the window if I see another text post entirely generated by AI on the forums. Modding using AI as an assistant is fine, but this makes me want to jump off of the Empire State Building, and see if a Walmart bag works as a parachute.

"Hey, buddy, you stole my mod and uploaded it on modland without MY consent! You have breached article 3 of the Modders Bill of Rights! You will hear from my lawyer!"

You do realise how pathetic this sounds, right?

How about, instead of some AI written text, we just resort to good old common sense?

There is literal proof that this is AI. Please stop passing off GenAI text as your own.

Sorry man, the summary is AI-y.
I think there's something about mods in BeamNG's EULA.
