It's not the fact the modder is trying to earn some money, I have no problem with that; I'm fine with paid mods. I'm not fine with paid mods being advertised in a place where they're not supposed to be. This is an internet forum, not a lamppost to stick a flyer on.
I won't buy this bike as it isn't my personal preference, but if you do an R1 or V4 Ducati, I might needa cop. In saying that, this bike and the amount of effort you put in is simply unheard of to most, especially with basically writing your own physics for the bike so it doesn't suck. Amazing. Obviously, there are a couple other motorcycle mods out here, but I've never seen or heard anything quite like a slip node... Interesting!
i mean where else would you want them to be posted, be honest the forums is the best place for it to be seen, kids will of course always complain about a paid mod but in the end the forums is the best place for this, especially for this guy cause hes pretty new it seems and his yt isnt really big enough to be seen by people willing to buy a beamng mod.
I also think this is wrong. Modder is using someone else's forum (this forum) to promote his stuff. Nothing wrong with payware, but this is a forum for mods, not payware. If you you want to sell mods, make your own website or join a shop for that kind of stuff.
Nobody was complaining when CrashHard did the exact same thing with his dummy, and everyone is complaining here. Make up your mind. Personally I don't think I'll buy it because it came out of nowhere and it's his first mod, I'm not fully convinced about the quality considering how that other bike mod turned out that was someone else's first mod. (Also pretty sure a slidenode suspension is not "never done before", it seems really standard for front suspension of a bike.)
I think it could use a little bit more work, the front tire seems pretty fat, generally "choppers" have a much thinner front tire and a fatter rear to give it more of a muscular stance.
I didn't see CrashHard's payware. I only remember his 8x8 truck was very taxing on the frame rate, but that's another topic. Regarding this payware mod, OP may want to offer a different free mod. Then if he wants to pitch his payware as a separate download, I think that would be more acceptable. At least that's my opinion, but I've seen the same done on the Steam workshop by another modder.
using Youtube's membership program for people to pay for a mod whose creator is really not well known? Yep, Beam mods is now a gambling game people
there have been paid mods on the forums before? they aren't against the rules, the payment method for the mod is very unorthodox for sure, but whether it's against the rules is not up to you.
Those rules are in your head, and what do you even mean? Paid mods can't be posted to an internet forum lol?
In the forum rules that WackyFolf linked, among the banned things is: 2.1.7. Unsolicited advertisement (including links to Discord servers) So the question then is, what is unsolicited. Perhaps this is not as it's a mod to this game rather than a random product. I suppose the moderators have decided it's OK.
