Update Speculation thread

With JRI bus stops on the left, could that possibly mean a Japanese bus or mini bus in the more distant future?

 

Although it would be nice to have, I doubt that's any confirmation. Italy has bus stops and routes, but we don't have a European bus.

 

I just noticed that! Now that I think of it, the revised skin should make it easier for modders (or devs in the future) to make other “used” looking dryvan skins. Ranging from slightly beat up trailers to seriously past useful life, just about dead rust buckets such as these:

 

Who wouldve thought Beam would grow like this. I was just a happy camper at the RoR forums when it was announced Beam would come and then in 2013 when they first released a version. Beam is really something else.

Bruh, PBR is a game changer. Look how on the car surfaces it catches different building materials in the reflection, the colors really pop compared to how flat it was before. We also can see more skylight bouncing at sharp angles which is really great. The environments are probably the least noticeable change but still look slightly better than before with notable highlights on surfaces and shadows in corners.

 

Difference is enlarged by the fact that blue car is different model and different shade of blue, it is not that big change to me at least.

Look my post where I posted green car, there car has big difference.

 

Looking at this makes me worry a bit about environment pbr stuff, like the ground is reflecting the sky like there is no structures around it. Hopefully the devs are working on more modern game engine stuff like reflection probes so that can be fixed.

 

Might you upload it here or to a Drive link for us to see? I doubt it was leaked accidentally, so they probably wouldn't mind it being shared for speculation purposes...

 

I'd say that making the video private should be a very clear sign that it was not an intentional leak.

 

Am I the only one wondering how that video got leaked in the first place? Cuz that's really strange

 

It was unlisted on youtube, and i guess someone found a link..

 

Either the update is near or they make some of the update trailers a month in advance.

 

If beamng does updates similar to some previous production stuff I have done, they probably had the videos planned around the time they knew what was going be in 0.23. A month if not more before it is even released. Usually the 'update showoffs' is practically a job for someone, gathering what is expected to be in the next one and writing up what should be shown off when and stuff like that.

This does make a lot of sense. just because the devs don't mention or show something doesn't mean they aren't working on it. I wonder what the remastered vehicle that's coming in this Update? As I doubt the pigeon is coming as it looks like the Widgeon might be paired with it and it isn't ready by the looks of it.


For all we know Rockstar games is working on GTA 6 but obviously it being a big project is why it's taking so long (around 8 years since GTA V came out), yet they haven't really talked or shown anything except community speculation.

 

Oops I thought the blue car was Bluebuck, novice mistake at 8000+ hours on the clock. Anyway the biggest difference to me is the car windows that look much thicker and car-windowy than before. What even is this thin air stuff that we have now?

 

When I'm doing conversions from other games, windows indeed is area that is somewhat annoying, if PBR improves that, then I'm all in.

Although we all have been hyped of something, then we get said something and it does not feel so big, but when we have not been hyped of something and we get said something, then it feels much bigger.

So conclusion is, hype is bad for shock and awe effect of new release
