Has it really been two and a half years since the devs mentioned the UI 2.0? Wow, didn't realize it was that long ago. I would assume it is nearly complete or already complete at this point, given the amount of time it has been since it was first mentioned. I have a feeling the new UI is somehow integrated with the career mode, and once the career mode update comes out, so will the new UI. I do think the new UI will be in the style of the current loading screens, those have a unique style compared to the rest of the UI, and were the most recent UI update. (I believe the new loading screens came out around the time the new UI was announced, but I could be wrong on that.)

if the bolide gets a group b version it could also get a group 5 version to sit above the group 4 version. the years line up with the last 2 years of group 5 (81-82) and there are also similar cars in both events (ferrari 308 & lancia stratos)

This is a great chance to make something similar to these 80s and 90ish Lancia rally cars:

and considering ferrettank has a thing for tube-framed offroad monsters, i wouldn't be surprised if they're getting him working on the multi-purpose rally/curcuit silhouette car.
after all, he seems to be leading his own small team, and it's been quite a while since the superpig came out.

Between the likely extreme racing versions, and the possible heavy restyle, I'm really looking forward to the (probably) next update.

If we get a group B car, it will most likely be something between the Lancia 037 and the Lancia Stratos
(A trim similar to the 037, but with flip up headlights)

Surprised no one has mentioned the idea of a LXT Roamer overlander build. Surely wouldn't require too much to make and it would give us an option for a vehicle to use for camping. But then I doubt this game will ever have any form of survival elements, we never expected to see a walking mode so anything's possible (but there is the risk of having too many unnecessary features) .

if the bolide does get a tube frame rally & track version it will probably get a rival (hopper crawler vs d-series crawler). based on cars in similar events its track rival could be a facelift moonhawk super silhouette and its rally rival could be a prefacelift covet like the mg metro 6r4 or renault 5 turbo. the evidence for the covet is that it has gotten more parts which usually happens before a remaster (legran stop light & head light removal) and most remasters come with a facelift or prefacelift (d-series, roamer & legran). a prefacelift would also put the covet within the timeframe of group b. as for the moonhawk, bruckell has already started its remasters and the devs usually focus on brands when doing remasters as seen with gavril. similar cars in group 5 to the moonhawk include the Greenwood widebody corvette & zakspeed ford capri turbo.

very few of the japanese manufacturers actually made group B cars, and those that did usually used sports car platforms (silvia 240rs, mr2 222d, celica GT-T, starion 4wd, etc.) so i doubt they would make a mid-engine group-B covet.
    and while it's not 80's, a potential rival with similar performance could be a GT3/GTE K-series with a twin-turbo V8.

I'm pretty sure this may have been already mentioned before, but anyways, what interests me here is that both modern ETKs were released while considered slightly incomplete, with the 800 forum description suggesting a possibly planned or cancelled sedan variant and the K-series' forum description possibly having a V8 variant or something similar as said "bigger engine" variant, but both may be either on hold until the ETK revamps (I'd give it 1-5 years bc other cars may need revamps first), or straight up cancelled.

the k-series is not a kind of etk 800 coupe? Because they use the same platform. Maybe because of this it was canceled, it was going to be almost the same thing

I guess one can think of it like the BMW CLAR platform. G29 Z4 (K-Series) and G20 3-Series/G22 4-Series (800-Series) and basically everything else BMW makes actually. The K-Series being the sports coupe and the hypothetical 82X being more of a 2 door volume car.
