Thought I should update the list with a few more ideas. 70's Australian Muscle car like the Valiant charger. would come with a high end Bathurst homoligation variant with a high powered inline 6 engine, Would have options for v8 engines. A small Australian coupe similar to the Holden Torana. Has options for 4 and 6 cylinder engines, will have a Bathurst variant of course. Maybe an official Kit car in the game. Sharing parts from any of the other official vehicles.
I feel that a track toy specific vehicle is a must in game. I know it is a very niche vehicle segment, but 5-10 years ago that sorta stuff (Ariel, Factory 5, BAC, Caterham, etc...) had a really strong culture around it that really deserves to be represented in game. I'm not even really into this sorta stuff (though I wouldn't turn down a Factory 5 Cobra), I just remember it being really popular for awhile so it I think it deserves something in game.
I'd probably like a 90's american cabover truck. Something like the Peterbilt 362: The reason i'd like one of those is: 1. We do need some more trucks, especially this since this is a cabover. 2. It fits in with the lore of the game. The T-Series' produce time was from 1977 - 1986. 3. It would be quite fun to race this against a T-Series and crash these two.
They were "popular" enough that the Top Gear magazine even did a group test as part of a search for the best new 2012 performance car. The Radical won - and then the journos concluded it still wasn't a good car, even on the track. Ultimately, Top Gear's best 2012 sports car was the puny Toyota GT86. From my personal archive:
Alright everybody, by now you've seen the Wendover. Remember to archive anything on your list that matches its description, and get ready - there's a chance that we'll be seeing a second round of vehicles previewed soon! If you haven't got a list up yet, now would be a great time to start. Take a look at the guidelines in the first post, and remember, the question isn't just what you would like to see! It's more a question of which vehicles you think would get good reception from the community, and which vehicles are needed to build a well-rounded game.
Finally updated mine since I never did after the Vivace was introduced. #8 replaces the hot hatch I had.
Well, with the first surprise vehicle after the Wendover now released to the BeamNG community, I think that it's time to revisit this thread. Will there be a second round of previewed vehicles? If so, now is one of the most likely moments for it to appear. If you've already posted your ideal list of nine vehicles and why you think they would help to make the game more balanced while covering new archetypes, now is a good time to go back over it and check to see if one or more of your ideal vehicle types has already made their way in-game. I'm noticing that there are a lot of old lists that predate the Cherrier Vivace/Tograc that still have spots for modern hatchbacks, CUVs, etc. With those moved from the lists to archives, you've got an open invitation to add a new suggestion to your list! If you haven't yet made a list of your own, now is the time to start! Just make certain to read the guidelines in the first post.
I'll just make a new post to signify that I have indeed updated my original post, the primary additions being a 1930s/40s British GT car, and a 1950s/60s French Luxury car.
Alright, might as well give this a shot! I'll keep it to 5 only at the moment. 1. 1980s Burnside Burnside has been way too long neglected, with essentially no other car than the Special and the fact that its been a long while since that released too. On top of that, if you were insistent you could even follow the original lore and make it a 'final model' as the brand supposedly dies in the middle of that era. Finally, it would further flesh out how premium Burnside is as a brand. 2. 1970s American econobox I'm honestly surprised they haven't gotten around to filling this niche, especially with their distinctive looks and the array of possible configurations to replicate onto it. It also would make for a good fill-in for that era, as car-wise there's only the Moonhawk. 3. Euro/UK specific Gavril I know the cars don't really have a consistent domestic market, but with how much presence brands like Ford and Chrysler have spent in both markets with unique cars, it has quite a good selection for other niche fillers. It also would help give the European maps more fitting vehicles and on top of that, diversifying the brand to have a new car from a different domestic market. 4. 50s/70s utility vehicle I think it'd be very nice to have a earlier utility vehicle, especially for the multitude of offroading opportunities some of them can offer. There's also the fact no other utility vehicle exists before the 80s and has multiple avenues to take, from the fullsized SUVs to the minitrucks. Generally would just fill the niche of old utility vehicle in my opinion. 5. Kei sport car Now that the Pigeon is now essentially an kei truck and we have the new Wigeon, I think the next best niche within the city/kei car category would be going for the sport cars. Not only does this give the designers an opportunity to go all out again, but also gives us another sports car at the same time. Also could fill the modern kei car niche too if possible.
My top 1: Something pre 1950's. I cannot think of any game where cars are the main focus, which has been made in the past 20ish years as official content. The last one I remember is the ANCIENT Ford Model T mod for early Rigs of Rods, and Ford Racing 3 in 2004 with the Model T. The 1936 Chevy Master is a good starting place Very 30's, basic sedan, 4 door and very solid well known car, shouldn't be hard to get the specs for its engine and all that. These cars are becoming forgotten despite being pioneers and pretty good looking, because the modern audience looks for supercars now, but I feel having a big well known game bring something like this into the game will spark an interest in these cars again.
Wreckfest, NFS 2015, and NFS Payback all had a '32 Ford. Forza Horizon 4 had a couple pre-1950 cars, as well as Gran Turismo 6 with a single one. If we count GTA Online there's maybe 5 there. As someone who loves vintage racing in games I certainly wish there was more of it in titles lately. I guess it's back to Mafia 2020 for me.
You do realize BeamNG is a very well selling game, right? 88th for concurrent players on steam atm and for a long time second only to GTA V for racing game sales on steam (F1 2021 and Forza Horizon have recently overtaken it though).
Now it's down to 93rd. And it's not really a prestigious position - there is a reason why, for example, the idea of a radio hit starts below #40. It just means that there is a noticeable player base - Beam is on the same niche level as Dying Light or No Man's Sky. Also, Forza has only been on Steam for a few months. Wait a while first.
Using statistics for how many people have bought it is dumb. For many years I watched Sims 4 videos but was never a statistic because I never got the game until recently. It is well known.
For every new vehicle, there came a remaster, or for every remaster, there came a new vehicle, except the time when the vivace came (vivace and tograc). The new vehicles seemed to be on the same platform as the remastered version: (legran and wendover) (wigeon and pigeon) (tograc and vivace) (d series and roamer). I can guess that a new vehicle will come with the bolide, specifically on the same platform. Maybe a kei truck for wigeon remaster?
I know there is alot of 80s cars in the game but i would like to see a 80s coupe almost like the regal but a sports coupe that would at the time have beaten corvettes by gm. You may know what im talking about but a 1987 preferably gnx somewhat like that. it had a weird engine a 3.8 litre v6 turbocharged so it would be cool to have something like that or a sports truck variant of the d series like a 1991 gmc syclone sports truck with a 4.3 turbocharged v6 with sport suspension two awsome cars of the 80-90s
Wendover is an FF unibody, the A/G-Body Regal was an FR BoF It's like saying the Moonhawk and the LeGran are the same
