Hey, first time posting here but I need help, and I felt I should go to the more experienced for this I've recently started making skins for beam, and it's going quite, well, but I've been running into an issue with the D-series The skin does still show up on it, there's nothing wrong with the code. However, there appears to be some sort of folding on it or something like that, and it's driving me up the wall. This issue isn't happening with any other vehicle Help would be very much appreciated! I can add more images to better show the problem if that is preferred
I cannot judge correctly from your pictures because of the shadows. Can you take some others or a video maybe? As well a screenshot of your skin texture file
I've done the material, and the skin is actually showing up, it's just there's strange lines occuring --- Post updated --- Here's what I got. For the skin template file, I also got a screenshot with the UV overlaid above it
Such as? I copy-pasted it from some other materials things for other vehicles, in which this doesn't occur, and changed the vehicle names to pickup as necessary
It's much easier to troubleshoot if you attach your files. The fact that stuff shows up on the D-series doesn't prove that your jbeam / material is setup completely correctly. Probably one of the maps is wrong (normal, diffuse, specular, overlay, etc). Note that there are multiple slots for some of these maps (multiple diffuse maps for instance). I wouldn't recommend starting with files from another vehicle unless you understand the implications. Start with pickup files.
if my memory serves correct, the pickup's maps are located in vehicles/common/pickup, also, not sure if '_alt' variants exist of them either you should also probably avoid spaces in places other than the 'name' and 'authors' sections
Queenstar is correct. The paths used for the other maps in your skin are incorrect. What you see in the bed of the truck is the "NO" from "NO TEXTURE". Good catch @queenstar.
Thank you all for the help. I went and got some actual file templates that were natively pickup, and that has solved the problem
That's great! There should be a mechanic for marking the thread as "Solved". This helps other users when they're searching for solutions. It may be under "Thread Tools" which should be right above your OP (for you).
