Hi everyone, This is a 1970 Ford F-250 Camper Special I’ve always felt that there should be more old cars, specifically trucks in the game so I am working on bringing this to BeamNG It's been quite a while since I last touched this but today I came back to it and fixed a bunch of stuff to get it working in the latest version Progress: Mesh Modifications: 99% Jbeam: 60% Textures: 90% Configurations: 10% The model was originally made by stratumx for GTA V and has been converted and modified. I have asked the creator via email to use his model and have gotten permission to do so I am getting closer to finishing the main body jbeam so I will be starting to add different engines, etc. I have almost no idea what engines/configurations/trims this truck came in and don't have loads of time to research it, so if you happen to know please reply it. I'm pretty sure it came in all V8s though so the first engine I'm going to make is a V8. Jbeam work is still ongoing, and it's not finished yet. I'm not the fastest so don't ask for release dates, it will be released when it's done. So far beds include standard short bed, flareside and possibly a fifth wheel attatchment I'm currently kinda busy so its on hold for now
I'm pretty sure its the model originally made from scratch by StratumX. You can find him on most big GTA modding community sites (gta.com.ua, gtainside.com and sometimes on gtaforums). He usually gives permissions for converting and modifying his models if asked If it is his model indeed you can ask for other "versions" aswell because he made iirc 3 or 4 different models of this Ford including pre-facelift, U-Haul upfit and some other
Hey guys I have started doing the Jbeam for some of the parts, it might take a while Also I got the textures from the GTA V version thanks to stratumx and a few others I am surprised because the textures are pretty high quality It also has a uv map thing, basically a dirty/rusted skin, i'll figure out how to do skins eventually but not now
just a quick question how many variants will there be of this, is it customizable with other mods such as bigger wheels and tires or icerock wheels and what is the hoped release time area
I might try and reduce it, but I do want to keep the quality We'll see how it works out --- Post updated --- I'll start getting in to the customization and configs after I get it in game, which isn't too far as for release date... it'll be a while, I can't really give an estimate right now
the mario model from super mario 64 had around 760 tris so if i could tell that that shovelled-haded hunk of 64 bit power was a mario anything is possible. anyway that's a bit high for a beamng car. if you keep it like that, for it to look un-russian, i'll need a lot of nodes.
Update #1 I have started creating jbeam for most of the vehicle. It drives but I don't really know how to add engine thermals, and stuff like that. Heres a video it drives pretty good. I borrowed some parts of the engine from another mod
What base vehicle did you use for your JBeam? Also, I would highly advise against modifying the model. The poly count is perfectly fine for a model with this much detail, and shouldn't cause too much of an issue in BeamNG.drive. If you already have permission to use the model from the author, I don't see a problem with using it unless you run into any major issues that would be best solved by making a new model entirely.
