I'm not a miticulous collector of anything. I just have a tub full of over 600 1:64 Hotwheels which I love dearly. Mostly they're just cars, but I have a few really high collectibles, like a Tucker Torpedo which was valuble already but the interior was put in the wrong way in the factory. I also have a few ones I stanced myself. I don't arrange them or anything, I'm just perfectly happy with my tub. I also have a few mints from the year they started. Plus, my kid sister spends alot of time playing with them. 1: This is a terrible picture of about half my lot 2: This doesn't look much, but it's quite rare 3 and 4: This one I lowered myself 5 and 6: This is a limited edition AC with an opening hood. it's not in great condition. 7 and 8: If you look closely at this Torpedo, you see the interior is a back-to-front factory mistake.
Why don't you open them? There's no point just not opening them so they'll be 'Valuable' later on. Nothing beats the crack as you open them and when you spin the wheels. Then you can just keep it mint. (OK, I know you opened one 2000GT-X, but you still keep most closed.
Theres a trick with matchbox and hotwheels cars is if you want to take them out of the packet get a wet paint brush and brush the bottom strip then carefully open then you have a nice open 1:64 scale car for putting on your shelf or desk and if you want to put it back in the box do it again but carefully press down the wet paper/car.
I will add pictures when I get the Volvo,Skyline,MX-5,VW Pickup or 2017 matchboxes heres what I purchased this week might see if I can find some new matchbox cars next week.
Where did you get the Matchbox couldnt find it at Woolies EDIT If theres 2 at Coles I will buy them and maybe Buy 2 VW Pickups and some random/cool Matchbox castings like the Airport Bus,MX-5 or a Mudstang. Vw Pickup Might also paint one white or something and keep the other stock Skyline Wheel swap one with a VW shown above and paint it Dark Blue or Black and Red and make a mini styrene spoiler and splitter. Maybe I might buy 2 of these and paint one Lime Green and add a number plate. just for the curious ones that are interested in my Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars and I also made a Scale car collector/fan group just join through my profile.
Luck I guess. heck i dndn't even know that specific casting even existed when I brought them. I could of brought four but denied. I guess if I brought four I would of been considered a scalper. I brought mine at The Wharehouse in Fielding New Zealand. I thought i would share a model i might be getting at one point. Random photo of exact model that I found on the internet.
